Nick couldn’t find an argument.
Finally, he frowned and said: “Don’t bring your
emotions into this.”
“But you know I won’t.”
He knew I cared about my reputation.
If it wasn’t for a legal aid, I wouldn’t take this
case.
He knew Summer wasn’t innocent.
The employees were telling the truth, and
Summer wasn’t willing to admit she was

your emotions to work.”
“Don’t deny it, you want me to be the one to blame!”
I laughed.
“Nick, our marriage has just been a way for
you to vent.”
“Let’s end it. It’s better for both of us.”
Frank didn’t expect me to say all of that.
He waited for me to finish, and started
clapping.
“Nick, it’s up to you.”
“But don’t worry, even if you say no, I’ll help
my employee with your divorce!”
Summer was in tears. She needed him to say
yes.
I wanted to cry.
I stood up and left with Frank.
