By the time Synthia finished her shift, she quickly instructed a few words to her assistant and then left. She was worried about Nicole and
wanted to find her.
As soon as Synthia walked to the hospital entrance, a group of people got out of a van, carrying a stretcher covered with a white sheet, and rushed straight towards Synthia.
“It’s her!” A middle–aged woman in mourning clothes grabbed Synthia’s arm and yelled, “Everyone, look at her! This heartless doctor killed my daughter!”

Another person also shouted, “My niece just had a cold, but this doctor falsely diagnosed her with brain cancer and insisted on surgery. She killed my niece!”
“You bastard, you must compensate us! If you don’t pay, we won’t let you go today!”
The commotion attracted a crowd.
Many people were talking and taking photos, even recording videos and livestreaming.
Synthia tried to take out her phone to call security, but that woman immediately grabbed Synthia’s hand to take her phone. Synthia frowned and pushed the woman away.
“Ouch!”
The woman deliberately fell to the ground, crying out, “Ouch! She hit me! This heartless doctor hit me! Post the videos online. Let everyone see her true color!”
“I didn’t push you. You fell on your own,” Synthia argued with the woman and called security.
She had a few surgeries in the past few days, but no one died.
So, when she saw this woman, Synthia thought she might deliberately cause trouble. Even if it wasn’t Synthia’s case, she couldn’t just stand by as a doctor at this hospital.
“You pushed her. We all saw it!” The woman’s family immediately pointed at Synthia and shouted.

Synthia ignored her, just taking out her phone.
Soon, Keshawn and Manuel arrived with security.
“It’s you?” Manuel immediately recognized the family, frowning. “You’ve gone too far. How dare you cause trouble at the hospital!”
Seeing Manuel, the family felt a bit guilty.
“Causing trouble? We’re here for justice. Your hospital’s doctor killed my daughter. She was only 17 years old. We demand 1.5 million dollars in compensation, or we’ll all stay here!” the woman threatened fiercely.
“You!” Manuel was furious.
Keshawn held him back. “Manuel, don’t get agitated. What’s exactly going on?”
“You don’t know what’s going on?” The woman didn’t give Manuel a chance to explain, continuing to slander, “The doctor at your hospital killed my daughter. You can call the police. We’re not afraid of that! This corrupt doctor even accepted bribes! We have evidence!”
The woman immediately took out her phone and showed a photo.
In the photo, they were giving money to Synthia.

“Dr. Duffy, it has nothing to do with you. Don’t be afraid,” Manuel spoke up for Synthia. “Mr. Bonilla and I will stand by you. Let’s call the police!”
In Manuel’s view, even though Synthia was a good doctor, she was still young and lacked experience in dealing with such situations.
Synthia raised her phone. “Well, I’ve already called the police, and they’ll be here soon.”
“What? You really called the police?” The woman was frightened, rushing towards Synthia and shouting, “You bitch, how dare you call the police! I’ll kill you, bitch!”
Synthia stood there and didn’t move at all.
Keshawn and Manuel were also confused. They didn’t expect Synthia to call the police so quickly.
The situation was chaotic.
That family was getting aggressive, about to attack Synthia, but a strong figure stepped in front of her, blocking the attack.
Soon, a dozen bodyguards rushed in and quickly restrained that family.
“Mr. Dalton?” someone shouted in surprise, recognizing the man who helped Synthia.

After marrying Darion, she learned something about the four major families in Southdale. If she remembered correctly, the Dalton family was one of them.

The crowd started discussing.
“Thanks.” Synthia looked at the man. “But it’s not necessary. I just don’t want to fight back. There is a surveillance camera, and the police will arrive soon. They’ll give me and the hospital justice.”
The crowd was surprised.
A man helped her, but she wasn’t moved at all, and even said something like that. She really destroyed the romantic vibe.
“Well, it seems I disrupted your plan.” The man smiled. His voice was deep. “Sorry, Dr. Duffy, but do you need me to help you deal with it?”
It was easy for him to deal with this family.
Synthia shook her head. “No need.”
She didn’t want to accept the help from this strange man.
Besides, she could handle these matters herself, and she didn’t want to owe him a favor.

“You still dare to lie?” Synthia shook her head. “Do I need to expose your family’s dirty behaviors in public?”
“What nonsense are you talking about? If you don’t help us, that’s fine, but how can you frame us?” Maggie said viciously.
