Chapter 21 Are You Teaching Me?
The next morning, Synthia was awakened by the phone ringing.
She was not really woken up yet, so she barely opened her eyes to pick up the phone. It was an unfamiliar number.
Synthia answered.
“Ms. Sweeney, bad news!” An urgent voice came. “Greenfairy Capital has taken action! They’re being quite ruthless this time. They accused some of our streamers of violating regulations, as well as tax evasion!”
Synthia was confused.”
She pulled the phone away from her ear a bit, then realized that it was not her phone.
This was Nicole’s phone.
Last night. Nicole was drunk, and Synthia was worried that she couldn’t sleep well, so Synthia slept in the same room with Nicole to
take care of her.
But Synthia recognized this voice. It was Nicole’s assistant.
“Vivian, it’s me.” Synthia took the phone, walked out of the room, and said, “Ms. Sweeney isn’t up yet. Is something wrong? Tell me. I’ll help her handle it.”
As Nicole’s assistant, Vivian knew about Synthia and Nicole’s relationship, so she briefly explained the situation to Synthia.
Greenfairy Capital was originally one of the three major live streaming companies in Southdale, but a few days ago, Vantedge Capital completed the acquisition of Greenfairy Capital’s shares. Now, Vantedge Capital was the largest shareholder of Greenfairy Capital.
This morning, Greenfairy Capital targeted Nicole’s company.
“Ms. Duffy, did Ms. Sweeney offend someone?” Vivian was worried. “I heard that Ms. Sweeney offended the boss of DR Group. Their boss. personally gave the order this time, so other companies dare not get involved.”
The boss of DR Group?
Darion?
Synthia thought of what happened last night. Did Darion really take action against Nicole because Nicole helped her last night?
If that was the case, then she couldn’t stand by and let it happen.
After hanging up, Synthia thought for a moment, deciding to go next. door to ask Darion directly.
If Darion was really so petty, she didn’t mind apologizing to him.

Synthia tried knocking a few more times, but still no one opened the door, so she took out her phone and called Darion.
Darion answered the call.
“Dr. Duffy, I don’t think we’re close enough to make a call so early in the morning,” Darion said in a teasing way, but his lips curled into a pleased smile.
Upon hearing this, Synthia’s fingers clenched unconsciously.
But she comforted herself immediately.
She didn’t want to get angry with such a jerk.
“Mr. Raymond, why are you targeting Nicole?” Synthia questioned. “Just because she got drunk last night and scolded you a few words, you’re going to destroy her company? That’s a bit too petty, don’t you think?”
Darion was sitting in the back seat of the car, and his face darkened immediately
“Dr. Duffy, what do you mean by that?” Darion’s voice also cooled.
She called him early in the morning just to humiliate him?
No one dared to speak to him like that.
“Are you asking me?” Synthia sneered. “You made the order to destroy Nicole’s company, didn’t you?”

“Destroy?” Darion asked. “Do you mean I destroyed the company of your friend that I met last night?”
He didn’t remember giving such an order.
He didn’t even remember what Synthia’s friend looked like. Why would he want to destroy her company?
“Isn’t it?” Synthia sneered. “Mr. Raymond, my friend just wanted to help me last night. If you’re really upset about it, I’ll apologize on her behalf. But please take back your decision. If you’re mad, then talk to me directly.”
Darion didn’t do it.
But he was a proud man, so he never explained.
Besides. Synthia was sure that he did it, so his explanation would be meaningless.
“Dr. Duffy, are you teaching me what to do?” Darion retorted.
Synthia was speechless.
This familiar domineering tone…
“Also,” Darion continued, “why do you think I have to accept your apology?”
Synthia wanted to continue the conversation, but Darion’s words. completely angered her, and any further discussion would only lead to an argument. So, Synthia hung up abruptly.
Darion furrowed his brows, intending to call Eugene to ask about the situation. But thinking of Synthia’s bad attitude, he gave up.

Darion didn’t want this woman to ruin his day.
After hanging up. Synthia returned home and saw Nicole on a call. Nicole’s expression implied the situation was more serious than Synthia imagined.
“Synthy…”
Nicole turned around and saw Synthia. A hint of nervousness flashed across her face, and she instinctively covered the phone’s speaker. “When did you come over?”
Synthia took her phone and answered, “I’ll handle the company’s
issues.”
After saying it, she hung up the phone.
“Well, you know it?” Nicole was embarrassed. She was afraid Synthia would be angry, and she didn’t want Synthia to worry about her
company’s issues.
Synthia nodded. “Yeah, I know it. Don’t worry. I’ll handle this for you.”
Nicole was paused.
“No,” Nicole said. “Synthy, the situation is not that serious. I can think. of a way to solve it. I can’t always rely on you. I need to learn to solve problems on my own.”
Nicole didn’t want to rely too much on Synthia.
To be precise, she didn’t want to rely on anyone.
She thought that once she started relying on someone, it would get harder to stand on her own.

“Darion wants to use this to get back at me,” Synthia explained. “You shouldn’t get involved in this. So, leave it to me. I’ll go talk to him.”
If it didn’t work, she would expose that she was Darion’s wife to threaten him..
Nicole looked at her. “Do you mean he’s doing this because of last night…Seriously? How could the richest man of Southdale be so
petty?”
Nicole expected that Vantedge Capital would take action to deal with her.
But she didn’t expect it to happen so quickly.
Moreover, she was now certain that it was an order from the boss of DR Group. She thought it was a business competition, but it was actually because of her careless words last night.
This reason was really too ridiculous.
“Yeah.” Synthia nodded. “So, don’t worry about this matter. You can calm the employees in the company first. I’ll go talk to Darion.”
Nicole shook her head. “No, I’ll go with you.”
She actually didn’t quite believe Synthia’s reason. But if it was really the reason
she couldn’t let Synthia confront that petty and mean man
alone.
“Alright,” Synthia agreed. “You go wash up first. I’ll prepare your clothes. After breakfast, we’ll go together.”
Nicole agreed.
About an hour later, the two of them appeared at DR Group

“I’m sorry, Ms. Duffy,” the receptionist smiled. “Mr. Raymond said he won’t see you. Please leave.”
