Chapter 18
“The wedding invitation was easily obtained, it seems that the Zorlock family is not as mysterious and unpredictable as rumored.”
“The Zorlock family was quite strange, the invitation only had the groom’s name, not the bride’s.”
However, Damien didn’t care at all who the bride was, just which wealthy and prestigious family’s daughter she was.
He turned to his assistant and asked, “Is everything ready?”
The assistant nodded.
Norah ignored the strong opposition of the Xander family parents and resolutely divorced to marry Damien.
Apart from him, she had no one else to rely on in this world.
If we had to find someone who might take over, it would be Stephen.
“The wedding of the Prince of Chicago must have been full of media coverage. After the scandal was exposed, I wonder how he can still have the face to continue pursuing.”
Dakota quickly straightened herself up and flashed what she thought was a sweet smile.
She stepped forward, her creamy bosom half exposed.
“Mr. Zorlock, was it you who saved me? Do you need me to sacrifice myself for you?”

The secretary acted quickly and caught her by the collar, pulling her to the side.
Stephen sat down and spoke in a lazy voice.
“Who do you think you are?”
Dakota’s face changed.
Although she couldn’t compare to the beauty of Norah, she was still considered sweet and pleasant.
How did it appear in Stephen’s eyes, so unbearable?
She sat back at the dining table and said, “Tell me, what should I do?”
Stephen promised to give her five million, so she could take Tessa away from the Child Welfare Center, and the mother and daughter ran away.
“Who was Tessa’s biological father?”
Stephen wanted to use Dakota, this unstable element, to deal with Damien, of course he had to have leverage on her.
Who knew what this crazy woman would do when she went mad.
Dakota pursed her lips and did not answer.
Stephen was also not in a hurry. “Secretary, take Ms. Wallace back.”
He didn’t mean going back to New York when he said, “go back“, but going back to the basement of Damien’s mansion..
Dakota was locked up for seven days, surviving on dog food and occasionally being beaten by Damien.
She absolutely did not want to go back to that living hell of a basement
again.
“Wait! I said,”
When Dakota first arrived abroad, she stayed with a local host family, and the hostess was very strict with her.
“In order to retaliate against that nasty woman, I seduced the master of the house. That night, he sneaked into my bedroom…”
Dakota started crying as she spoke.
“I regretted a lot and was also very scared. After being kicked out, I had nowhere to go, so I lied to Damien that I was pregnant with his child.”
Damien felt sorry for his ex–girlfriend and married her.
Relying on this marriage certificate, Dakota was able to stand firm.
“Why did you go back to the United States?”
“I heard that Damien proposed, and I want to become Mrs. Harvick legitimately.”
Stephen nodded, Dakota’s account was basically accurate and didn’t differ much from what the secretary had found.
The secretary raised her wrist to check the time, and then reminded Stephen.
“It’s almost time for the wedding dress, you should leave now.”
Stephen stood up and buttoned his suit.
When he reached the doorway, Dakota suddenly asked, “Your bride is Norah, right?”

Before Stephen could answer, Dakota continued speaking to himself.

“Norah is really lucky. Damien wanted to kill me for her, and you don’t even care that she’s been married before.”
Stephen didn’t look back. “It’s not that Norah is lucky, she is just very good herself. Love should be pure without any impurities, letting go should be clean and decisive without any dragging.”
“Marrying her was my good fortune.”
He left the club without looking back after speaking.
Dakota numbly stuffed food into his mouth with his head down, “It’s so good to be able to eat until full, so good.”
Her voice choked, and tears streamed down her face.
Norah walked out of the fitting room in a fishtail gown and immediately saw Stephen leaning on the sofa.
“I told the secretary that if you were busy, you didn’t need to come over, I could handle it myself.”
Norah spoke the truth.
When Damien got married, he was at a career high.
“Norah, you go pick out your wedding dress yourself, I have an important client tonight!”
“Norah, you went to book the hotel venue, I had a dinner appointment.”
“Norah, just pick any wedding ring for now, I’ll customize one for you when we have more money.”
