Chapter 17
For the past five years, Stephen has kept himself pure and upright.
He remained indifferent to all the women who threw themselves at him. leading his family and friends to suspect his sexual orientation.
Grandpa had once hinted to him, both openly and subtly, “It doesn’t matter if the daughter–in–law is a boy or a girl, bring them home to have a look.”
He did not fail to try to start over and also attempted to reach out to other
Women.
But every time he got to the most crucial step, he couldn’t do it.
The surprised expressions of those women stung him.
Stephen also saw a doctor for this.
Mr. Zorlock, you did not have any physical illnesses. It is recommended that you see a psychologist.”
To avoid embarrassment, he simply abstained.
He thought that this was how his life would be, alone and lonely.
Until I received another call from Norah.
Staring at the familiar number on his phone, his breath almost stopped.
He stood up, leaning against the wall, took deep breaths repeatedly before tremblingly answering the phone.
His forced voice trembled slightly, “How could Ms. Xander deign to call
me?”
Norah ignored his sarcasm.
“Stephen, is our engagement still valid?”
Stephen forcefully suppressed his pounding heart, “You are a married
woman now.”
Norah patiently asked again, “Is the engagement still valid?”
Stephen rambled, “Was Ms. Xander trying to have an affair with me?”
After Norah hung up the phone, Stephen was filled with regret.
He had his secretary look into Norah’s recent life, only to discover that Damien, that bastard, had actually deceived her.
Stephen immediately called back, “Valid, forever valid.”
There was a pause on the other end of the phone for a few seconds, and the two of them agreed to get married next Monday.
Stephen was afraid that she would stand him up, so he quickly added, “Whoever doesn’t go will be a little dog.”
Norah said “childish“.
Stephen turned to his secretary and asked, “Am I very childish?”
I had always seen Stephen making decisive decisions in the mall, but it was the first time his secretary saw him looking like a fresh college graduate.
“It was quite childish.”
Stephen began to regret adding that one sentence again and again, asking,
“Will she think I’m not mature enough? Should I call to clarify?”
“How can I say to restore the image in her mind?”
“You talk, I pay you so much salary, how come you don’t even understand a girl’s mind?”
The male secretary of the same age as Stephen stared blankly at the “crazy” CEO, with a big expression of speechlessness on his face.
The secretary suddenly appeared in front of the French windows, “CEO, Damien asked the assistant to prepare a wedding invitation for you and Ms. Xander.”
Stephen stubbed out the cigarette and exhaled a puff of smoke.
“Give him whatever he wants.”
was
“Also, the Harvick Group acquired before the wedding.”
The secretary nodded respectfully, “It’s already in progress, the Harvick Group will no longer exist by tomorrow night at the latest.”
Since he was going to teach Damien a lesson for Norah, he had to do it thoroughly.
Grandfather had taught him, “Pulling out the firewood from under the cauldron, leaving the enemy with no chance of recovery.”
Stephen was never a soft–hearted person.
The floor–to–ceiling window reflected the ferocity on his face.
“What were you doing?”
Norah walked over with a blanket draped over her, and Stephen immediately put on a gentle expression.
Chepen 17
He walked over and hugged her, nuzzling his head against her shoulder.
Norah tugged at his hair, “Why do you look like a little puppy?”
The secretary beside him hesitated for a moment in her breathing.
In this world, there are actually people who dare to say that Stephen is like a dog.
Are you trying to get yourself killed?
In the next second. Stephen’s reaction left the experienced secretary completely stunned.
Stephen rubbed against me again and barked, “Woof.”
The secretary walked out with a look of disdain on her face and closed.
the door.
“Tsk, the dignified president is actually a romantic at heart!”
Early in the morning, Damien woke up to some good news.
Stephen’s wedding invitation has arrived
Damien looked at the pure gold, inside of which was embedded a whole sapphire.
