Chapter 11
Ethan pulled himself together and acted like he didn’t care about what happened as he went back home.
As soon as she walked in, Gwen rushed into her arms excitedly.
Ethan froze and realized that besides her, Jordan and Diana were also in the living room.
“Ethan, I’ve got good news for you!” Gwen hugged him, her eyes shining. “My illness was a misdiagnosis! I’m not going to die…”
Ethan’s long fingers gently brushed through her hair, and a flicker of unreadable emotion flashed in his deep eyes.
“Was it really a misdiagnosis?”
“Absolutely true!” Jordan said excitedly as he handed the test report to Ethan. “Gwen just had a benign tumor. Once it’s removed, she’ll be fine. As for that doctor who misdiagnosed her, he’s already been fired.”
Ethan looked down and glanced at the report in his hand.
After a moment, he looked up and asked, “Did you tell Adelia about this?”
Jordan’s face looked obviously awkward for a moment.
Diana also got up at this time and walked over to Ethan.
“Ethan, we were just about to talk to you about this,” she paused, looking a bit awkward, “You see, you and Gwen already got your marriage certificate and had the wedding. Now that she’s recovered, shouldn’t you

and Adelia…”
“You mean, you want me to break up with Adelia?” Ethan looked at Diana and asked back, his tone flat.
Diana paused.
I was just thinking about how to say it nicely when I heard Ethan say calmly, “Okay.”
The air went quiet for a moment,
No one expected Ethan to agree so quickly.
Gwen was even more overjoyed.
“Ethan, are you serious?” She stood on tiptoe and held Ethan’s face in her
hands. “Do you really want to give up Adelia and choose me?”
Ethan reached out and put his arm around Gwen’s waist, but his expression still didn’t change at all.
“We were already husband and wife in every sense.” He looked into her eyes, “Back then, I married Adelia because of you too.”
Gwen heard that and her heart started pounding.
She originally wanted to wait until she got pregnant with Ethan’s baby before telling him about her illness.
But a phone call this morning gave her a bad feeling.
Ethan suddenly asked her for the medical records.
Even though he said he was asking other experts for her.
But she knew things weren’t that simple.

Ethan probably got suspicious.
So she talked it over with her mom and decided to tell him about the misdiagnosis before Ethan kept looking into it.
“Since Ethan already decided, I’ll go tell Adelia tomorrow and let her know not to come back.”
After Jordan finished talking, Ethan just felt his heart clench hard.
It was the first time he watched this family of three as a bystander.
Whether it was Jordan and Diana or Gwen.
No one cared what Adelia thought or if she was upset.
It was like Adelia was just some air that didn’t matter.

In the days that followed, Gwen didn’t have to pretend to be a patient
anymore.
She met up with her girlfriends to go shopping every day, shamelessly swiped Ethan’s secondary card, and ran to the company whenever she got the chance, wishing everyone knew about her relationship with Ethan.
The employees at the Fargeat Group went from whispering at first to not being surprised anymore.
Everyone just assumed Ethan had already divorced Adelia, and Gwen was the new Mrs. Fargeat.
It’s just that, even though Gwen got everything, she always felt like something was off.
Ethan… seemed like he didn’t care about her at all.

He gave her plenty of material things and met all her needs, including that stuff in bed.
But he just didn’t care at all what she usually did or who she was with.
One time Gwen was really upset, went to a bar and ordered a bunch of male models, and sent it to Ethan on purpose.
Ethan just replied to her, “Don’t get too tired, come home early.”
At that moment, Gwen felt a kind of emptiness she couldn’t really explain.
It was like all she got was just “Mrs. Fargeat.”
Instead of Ethan’s heart.
