My brother’s question caught me entirely off guard and I choked on my food.
I kept coughing while checking out my brother’s reaction and it dawned on me.

Christopher didn’t watch the movie; he was secretly observing me the entire time.
In the dark, he quietly handed me a tissue.
After the movie, I sat in my seat and couldn’t calm down for a long time:

I hesitated. “But I still have important things to do. Now isn’t the right time.”
Christopher interrupted me immediately. “It’s about Jasmine, isn’t it? It’s okay, I can go with you.”
As he spoke, without waiting for my refusal, Christopher took out his phone and started booking tickets.
Flooked at my brother’s probing gaze and smiled. “Jesse, don’t worry. Starting tomorrow, I’ll be going out with him.”
