Chapter 15
Martin felt a splitting headache, and he slowly opened his eyes, only to see George’s delighted expression.
“Mr. Wilson, you woke up, doctor doctor…” she shouted and ran out.
The doctor examined it thoroughly and confirmed that there was no problem. Just do the rehabilitation properly.
George nodded and saw the doctor off. After he came back, he tidied up the bed and said, “Mr. Wilson, you were really lucky this time. You have been lying down for a week, and you finally woke up.”
Martin was in pain all over his body. He opened his dry lips and asked, “What happened to me?”
George was startled. Was he suffering from amnesia?
Thought about ringing the bell again.
Martin glanced, recognizing the familiar look in George’s eyes. He chuckled and lowered his hand.
“You saved a girl, and this moment is probably coming soon.”
The door made a fitting sound and the familiar face of the visitor left Martin stunned.
Almond–shaped eyes, oval face, those familiar eyes were filled with galaxies, as if they illuminated the entire night.
After a moment, a look of incredulity flashed in Martin’s eyes.
That face, it was Evelyn!
The scene before my eyes was extremely shocking. The deceased person was standing right in front of me, and in the next instant, a feeling of regaining what was lost burst forth in my heart.
His lips trembled slightly, and he even breathed more lightly, afraid of scaring people away.
Martin stared at Evelyn without moving, his eyes filled with complex emotions, and he called out in a low voice, “Evelyn!”
The newcomer was a bit confused, with unfamiliarity evident in her eyes. She asked, “Do you know me?”
Martin was stunned, memories suddenly flooded back, and the pain made him faint again.
When he woke up again, his thoughts gradually cleared.
Based on the scene in my memory, Isabel did go back to her home country, and she did join the company. She had not resigned yet, and everything was exactly the same.
The only difference was Evelyn, who had never appeared in his life.
And this car accident was the first time he saw her.
He thought that he might have traveled to a parallel world.
And Evelyn, was still alive.
With this in mind, he couldn’t help but curl up the corners of his mouth, starting to look forward to her arrival tomorrow.
The next day.
“Knock, knock, knock” came the sound of knocking on the door.
The person wore frameless glasses and looked refined and cultured.
Surprisingly, it was Reed Peterson, the president of the Peterson Group, who entered with Evelyn following closely behind him, dressed in a black suit.
He had a gentle smile on his face, and Martin, who had crossed paths with him before, knew that he was a sly fox with a polite exterior

but a cunning interior.
“Mr. Wilson, you seem to have recovered quite well,” Reed said with a concerned expression, but his tone seemed mocking.
Evelyn looked helpless, placed the brought fruits on the table, and smiled, “Mr. Wilson, a small token of goodwill, wishing you a speedy
recovery.”
Martin’s eyes flickered, restraining his longing as he tightly focused on the person in front of him, quickly regaining control and withdrawing his emotions.
Reed, who was standing aside, saw this scene and his smile faded.
He picked up the chair and sat down without hesitation, also remembering to pick up another one placed nearby.
Evelyn looked helpless, but she still sat down obediently.
Martin’s pupils contracted as he watched the familiar gestures between the two people. His hand, clenched tightly under the blanket, remained silent.
He lowered his gaze and replied coldly, “How does Mr. Peterson have the time to come over?”
Reed, as if he hadn’t seen any unwelcoming expression, continued to smile and said, “Mr. Wilson saved our project manager, so of course I have to thank you.”
Martin lifted his head and politely replied, “No need, it’s just a small effort.”
Evelyn peered behind him, politely and gratefully saying, “Mr. Wilson, I am truly grateful for your life–saving kindness. If there is anything I can help with in the future, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.”
Martin nodded slightly, Evelyn in front of him still looked familiar, but there was no longer any affection or longing in her eyes. In her eyes, he was just a stranger.
After visiting, Evelyn and the other person left the ward.
As soon as Reed stepped out of the door, he frowned and said, “Evelyn, you wouldn’t have liked that dog of a man, would you?”
