Chapter 8
Tonight, I couldn’t sleep a wink.
In this final moment, I had to prepare a surprise for them.
I took out the diary I’d started writing when I first came to the Lynch family at the age of seventeen.
I opened the first page of the diary.
“June 18, 2013, Sunny.”
“Today, I learned that I’m the daughter of the famous Lynch family in Fairport Island. I have a family again, and I’m so happy. My dad is handsome, my mom is beautiful, and my little sister is cute. I wonder if my brother Paul will be a doting one. I hope so! Expecting!”
Page 2.
“June 19, 2013, Cloudy.”
“Today, 1 used all the money I had to buy a tie for Paul as a gift, but it seems he didn’t like it. He said he likes expensive ones. I’ve decided to work hard in the future to earn money and buy Paul the most expensive tie in the world!”
A few pages afterward.
“December 16, 2013, Cloudy.”
“I envy my younger sister. Mom, Dad, and Paul all spoil her. Today is her birthday, and she received a lot of gifts, including a six–layer–tall cake. I’ve only seen such cakes on TV, so it was an eye–opener for me. However, none of the layers are for me. It seems like mom, dad, and Paul forgot that today is also my birthday… But it’s okay, celebrating with my sister is just as good.”
“April 9, 2018, Rainy.”
“Three days ago, Camden was attacked by his arch–enemy and fell into a coma, bleeding profusely. I knelt and begged those thugs, hoping they’d spare Camden’s life. Fortunately, those thugs agreed and said they’d exchange his life for my kidney. Although it was extremely painful when my kidney was removed, saving Camden was worth it.”
The very last page of the diary, which was the day before I was imprisoned.
“December 15, 2019,
Rain.”
There’s only one sentence on it.
“They never love me!”
Seeing this, tears streamed down my face…
Tears fell on the paper with a pattering sound.
I picked up the pen and wrote in German on the last page.
“December 24, 2024, Heavy Rain.”
“I’ve decided; I don’t want to love you anymore.”
“I don’t want to be my parents‘ daughter anymore, I don’t want to be Paul’s sister anymore, and I don’t want to be part of the Lynch family in my next
life.”
“I don’t want to marry Camden either.”
“Camden, this time, I won’t wait for you anymore.”
“As you wished, I’ll completely disappear from your world.”
“I’m giving you back the happy and harmonious Lynch family.”
“If possible, I wish I’d never been recognized by you all…”
After writing, I placed the diary on the table.
And then, I put the medical examination report from my time in prison on top of the diary.
The report clearly showed that I had only one kidney.
The next morning, the sound of fireworks from the Lynch family filled the sky.

This also marked the start of the wedding between Shirley and Camden.
The Lynch family members all smiled as they warmly welcomed guests at the entrance of their villa,
Suddenly, Shirley slapped her forehead and feigned annoyance.
She said, “Oh no, I had so much fun yesterday that I forgot to pick up the wedding ring!”
She looked at me as she spoke. “Brielle, can you go and get it for me since you don’t have anything to do right now? Dad, Mom, and Paul all have to entertain guests.”
As soon as these words were out, the Lynch family members, including Camden, all looked at me.
I coldly refused. “Get someone else to go. I’m not in a state to move easily and can’t drive.”
Hearing this, Shirley immediately put on a pitiful look. “Brielle, I’m sorry. I don’t trust others to get it. Are you still mad at me for getting engaged to Camden, so you don’t want to help me get it? I’m sorry, Brielle. I’ll just call off the wedding then.”
Seeing their beloved child looking wronged, the Lynch family immediately came to her defense.
“Brielle, are you really that stingy? Is it so hard for you to help Shirley get a ring?”
“Your leg was just injured, not disabled. You can still walk, so why can’t you drive?”
pursed my lips and looked at all of them, finally looking at Camden.
“Do you also want me to go and get it?”
Camden was silent for a moment before speaking up. “You go and get it. It’s not far, just ten kilometers. Nothing will happen.”
I closed my eyes and nodded, then went out with the car keys.
When I was passing over the cross–sea bridge, I accidentally stepped on the accelerator too hard and the car plunged.
“Mom, Dad, and brother, goodbye.
“Camden, goodbye.”
At the same time, the phones of the Lynch family and Camden rang.
But Shirley reached out and took their phones directly, hung up the call, and then quietly set them aside.
Time ticked by, second by second.
An hour had passed, and the ceremony was at the part of exchanging rings.
They suddenly realized that I, who could have made a round–trip of ten kilometers in just half an hour, still hadn’t returned.
The Lynch family couldn’t help but start scolding me again.
Paul had just picked up his phone and was about to call me.
The butler rushed out, his face full of anxiety.
“Sir, Madam, Ms. Brielle has had an accident!”
The Lynch family members and Camden suddenly stood up from their chairs.
“What happened to her?” Camden asked anxiously.
The butler was extremely worried.
“Ms. Brielle… has passed away.
“Her car had crashed off the bridge and sunk into the sea.
“She called me for the last time before she died. She said, ‘You guys have been ignoring her calls…‘
“She asked me to tell you that she died, as you wished…”
