Chapter 6
Camden would love me forever?
I stared at the big screen for a long time, lost in thought.
Camden walked up to me.
“Brielle, I’m sorry for what happened yesterday. It was my fault.”
His eyes were as tender as he appeared on the big screen, and his voice was also very gentle.
He continued, “But you have to believe me. Even if it was Shirley who saved me back then, you’re still the girl I love.
“So you don’t have to lie.”
I suddenly felt it was hilarious, laughing mockingly.
Every time Shirley and I had a conflict, he would stand up for Shirley. Yet now, he said that he loved me. How did he manage to be so shameless?
Seeing me sneering, he asked, “What’s wrong?”
He then pinched my face gently with his slender fingers.
“You’re really too skinny. You should eat more, or I’ll be worried about you.”
I suddenly raised my eyes and looked coldly into his eyes.
“Mr. Hoover, do you think I was having a holiday in prison for the past five years?
“It wasn’t easy for me to stay alive there. You think I could manage to gain weight there?”
Camden suddenly trembled slightly as he met my tearful eyes.
Maybe he had just remembered at this moment that it was he who sent me to prison.
He opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but the door of the Rolls–Royce’s passenger seat was suddenly pushed open.
Then, a familiar voice sounded.
“Camden, Brielle, don’t just stand there. It’s cold out there.”
It was Shirley.
I looked at Camden, remaining silent.
But he spoke up hurriedly and explained, “Shirley came with me because she wants to thank you for being generous and allowing me to marry her.”
“Let’s go. I’ll send you back.”
Without giving me a chance to refuse, he pulled me into the car.
In the car, Shirley pretended to show concern towards me.
She said, “Brielle, Mom would let the finance transfer you money every month. Why did I hear from Paul that you are still giving out leaflets to earn money?
“You shouldn’t do this. Others might think that the Lynch family is biased and treats you poorly.”
With that, she took off her necklace and handed it to me.
“Brielle, why didn’t you tell me that you needed money? Mom gave this necklace to me on my last birthday. It cost over 320 thousand dollars. It should be enough for you for a while.”
320 thousand dollars…
Looking at the exquisite and luxurious gem necklace Shirley handed me, I couldn’t help but mock myself in my heart.
Just a single gift of hers cost more than 320 thousand dollars.
Back then, when I was seventeen, I suddenly had a high fever and asked Mom for 32 bucks to see a doctor.
But she said, “Money, money, money! Do I owe you any? It was me who brought you to this world, so you should be grateful to me! Stop thinking about taking my money!”

Since then, I had never asked my family for money again.
As for what Shirley said, that they had been giving me money through the finance department, there was no such thing.
I sneered, “Of course, they’re biased. Just look at the difference between us. You dress‘ in brands while I dress in cheap goods.”
I slapped away her hand and continued, “You don’t need to pretend in front of me. I’m no longer seventeen years old, and I won’t fall for your tricks.”
When I was seventeen and had just returned to the Lynch family, I had thought about being a good half–sister of Shirley’s.
However, she kept accusing me time and time again, blaming me for everything bad she did.
By the time I realized it, it was already too late.
Tears instantly streamed down from Shirley’s eyes.
Camden, upon seeing this, quickly spoke up to defend Shirley, “Brielle, Shirley is being kind to you. It’s okay if you don’t want that necklace, but you shouldn’t have said such harsh words to her.”
I looked at Camden, who had just said that he would love me forever. He was defending Shirley again.
Suddenly, I felt it was very boring.
Suppressing the sourness in my heart, I asked mockingly, “Camden, must I accept her kindness? Do I have to be grateful for her generosity? What do you think I am? A fool?”
Camden suddenly didn’t know what to say.
Just at this time, Shirley suddenly covered her chest in pain.
And she said weakly, “I’m sorry… It’s my fault. It’s all my fault… Camden, don’t blame Brielle… Don’t quarrel because of me…”
Camden, upon seeing this, instantly became anxious.
He hurriedly instructed the driver, “Go to the hospital now!”
Then, he turned his head and looked at me disappointedly.
He reproached me, “Can you stop with your fusses, Brielle? You know very well that Shirley has heart disease and depression! Why did you still speak to
her like that?
“You’ve really gone too far. Get out. Go back by yourself.”
In the end, he left me on the road.
I watched as the car dashed away.
This happened again. I even began to feel numb about it.
I didn’t know when it began drizzling, but I could feel that the raindrops were piercing cold.
I looked at the accusations against me in the family chat group for a long time.
Then, I dialed the number of the fake death agency.
“It’s time. Let’s begin.”
