Chapter 10
The moment the message was sent, it was like a stone dropped into the sea, with no response.
Camden stood there for a long time, but Brielle didn’t reply.
His expression grew increasingly complicated.
He was a bit angry and worried about Brielle’s sudden disappearance, fearing that she was the one who had sunk into the sea.
Paul, who walked out, saw the tense atmosphere and unconsciously tightened his grip on the diary and medical report.
He’d only glanced at the report, but what he saw was shocking.
He wondered, “Why was Brielle’s body so frail? And why did she have only one kidney?”
Paul started to recall all of Brielle’s actions and behaviors from childhood to adulthood.
Paul felt it was necessary to verify the authenticity of these reports.
He didn’t hand these items over.
Instead, he called a trusted assistant and had him privately look into what had happened to Brielle during her five–year imprisonment.
“Camden, let’s not worry about Brielle for now. Let’s continue the wedding that got interrupted.”
Shirley finally broke the stifling silence.
She walked up to Camden and took his arm.
“Brielle always did things like this, deliberately pulling pranks to scare us. If she wants to disappear, let her. She’s an adult, so she won’t be in danger outside.”
Hearing these words, Paul and Mathew frowned.
Shirley didn’t care about Brielle at all!
Camden said coldly, “We can skip all the other steps. There’s no need to go all out for a fake marriage, Shirley. You just wanted to wear a wedding dress and walk into the church with me back then. Now we can just go straight there.”
“Camden!” Shirley stomped her foot.
Camden just pulled his hand away and led the way out of the Lynch’s villa.
Church.
Since it was a fake marriage, Camden hadn’t invited any guests.
The guests who had gone to the Lynch’s villa were just for show.
Now, aside from Mathew, Grace, and a priest, there was no one in the church.
“This is nothing like what I imagined!”
Seeing the desolate wedding scene, Shirley finally snapped.
“Camden,” she wailed, tears streaming down her face. “Brielle has left, but you still have me. Don’t I deserve better than that uneducated wretch? Besides, she’s even been to jail. How could she be worthy of you?”
Camden was getting impatient, and he was also panicked and confused about Brielle’s disappearance.
“Shirley, when you tried to commit suicide by jumping off a building, I agreed to a fake marriage with you. Now, I’ve done everything I was supposed to. Your wish has been fulfilled. I’m going to find Brielle now.”
As he spoke, he looked at Shirley again. “And don’t forget, Brielle took the blame for you!”
As soon as these words were out, everyone present was stunned.
No one had expected Camden to bring this up at this moment.
Just then, Shirley took out a knife and held it to her neck.
“I don’t care, Camden. How am I inferior to Brielle? Why do you only like her and not me? Have you forgotten that it was me who saved your life when you were knocked unconscious? I even gave up my kidney for you!”

Grace was terrified by this scene.
She quickly tried to take the knife from Shirley’s hand. “Shirley, don’t do anything stupid. Mom’s here. I will talk to Camden for you.”
“Don’t come any closer!”
Shirley waved the knife forward, instantly cutting Grace’s arm.
She mumbled, “Mom, I just want Camden. Why can’t I have my wish?
“It’s all Brielle’s fault, it’s all her fault! Damn it! Brielle deserves to die!”
Hysterical curses echoed in the church, and chaos broke out immediately.
The farce ended with police cars and ambulances rushing to the church.
Camden also got injured while trying to snatch the knife from Shirley’s hand.
At this moment, he was sitting in the ambulance, and medical staff were bandaging his wounds.
But Camden seemed oblivious to the pain, constantly calling and texting Brielle.
“Brielle, my fake marriage with Shirley has ended. Where are you?”
“Don’t be angry. Shall I come to find you?”
“I did these things because she’s your sister, and I was trying to help you, right?”
“I just wanted to make your life in the Lynch family better, to make your parents like you a bit more.”
No matter how many messages he sent, Brielle didn’t reply.
At the hospital.
Grace, ignoring the wound on her arm, told the doctor, “My daughter has depression and heart disease, and she’s also missing a kidney. She’s already suffered a lot. Please be gentle when stitching her wound. She’s really afraid of pain.”
Seeing her so worried, the nurse couldn’t help but stop and take off her mask.
“Madam, I understand how you feel as a mother, but we’ve already done a preliminary examination on this young lady.
“She’s in good health, no sign of depression or heart disease, and she doesn’t have a missing kidney as you said. Please don’t worry too much.”
