I didn’t expect Xander to find me so quickly. I was caught off guard.
I asked with my whole body on guard, “What are you here for?”
Xander saw that I recognized him and was both surprised and delighted. He whispered, “I came to pick you up and take you home. Sharon, do you know how much I suffered during the days you were not here?”
I sneered, “Huh? Suffering? That shouldn’t be the case. I’m not here anymore, so you can openly be with Cathy. How could I possibly suffer again?”
Xander shook his head and explained, “No, Sharon, it’s not like that. Listen to me, Cathy and I were not what you think, there was nothing
between us!”
I didn’t understand how Xander had the audacity to say such words so confidently.
I asked, “Xander, do you remember the question I asked you on the day you took Cathy to the villa?”
Xander thought about the question I asked him that day about why my eyes had gone blind, and his face grew paler and paler.
Xander knew that I had already found out that he was the one who made me blind.
I said faintly, “Xander, on the day I was kidnapped, while I was unconscious from the anesthesia, I heard your phone conversation with the kidnappers.”

Xander retorted, “It’s not like that, let me explain. A year ago, I had too much to drink at a social event and accidentally mistook Cathy for you, which is why I ended up having a one–night stand with her.”
“But later on… I admit it was me who couldn’t resist the temptation and went out with Cathy a few times, which resulted in Cathy getting pregnant. We had been childless for five years, and we had previously discussed adopting one.”
“I pondered and pondered, and no matter what, the child in Cathy’s belly is still my child. I couldn’t bear to have it aborted, so I let her give birth. Little did I know that giving birth to the child would cause Cathy’s cornea to detach. Listening to Xander’s feeble and pale rebuttal, I disdainfully chuckled and said, “It was already wrong for you to cheat on Cathy, and now you want her to have the child and expect me to raise it for you?”
Not only that, you wanted to make up for Cathy, but you took away my
cornea!
“Xander, do you want to listen and hear what you were saying? You were speaking so confidently; do you think you were doing the right thing?”
I almost shouted out the last sentence!
Xander shook his head, his voice trembling as he said, “No, that’s not true. Sharon, I already knew I was wrong, I knew it was me being a jerk, that’s why I came to find you, to make it up to you, to beg for your forgiveness.”

I asked in response, “Compensate me? Tell me, how do you want to compensate me?”

Xander whispered, “Naturally, I would have picked you up and cured your eyes, and then treated you well for the rest of your life. If you don’t want to see Cathy, I will kick her out, and then we can live happily as a family of three.”
Xander spoke with a light and carefree tone.
He felt that letting me see the light again, and then going back with him, treating me well for a lifetime, would be a way to make up for his debt to
- me.
Little did she know that her kindness was so cheap, and his lifetime of guilt was not worth mentioning.
“Xander, you really disgusted me!”
So pompous, and selfish, I couldn’t help but vomit, and in that moment of lowering my head, the gauze on my face slipped off again.
Seeing me in distress, Xander approached and patted my back, but he was kicked away by Giovani.
Giovani roared, “Go away!”
