When He chose Her Over Justice 7

Chapter 7

Declan froze instantly.

What did he just hear?

Little bitch’s bone bracelet, stepped on by Vanessa-that meant yesterday…

Flashing back to my tear-streaked face, pain shot through Declan’s chest. He immediately ordered his assistant:

“Go find out-when our baby’s body was cremated, was it intact? Go now!”

Soon, the assistant called back:

“Mr. Morrison, I asked the funeral home staff. Your wife wasn’t lying.”

“Those people claimed to be sent by Miss Wells, wanting to dig out the little girl’s ribs to make a human bone bracelet for her son to play with. They said the child’s body was horrifically mutilated. Your wife probably had it cremated early because she was afraid Miss Wells had more plans…”

“Those bastards! What gives Vanessa the right? How dare they desecrate my daughter’s body without my permission?!”

Declan slammed his fist on the table.

The assistant said carefully:

The staff said they called you, and you told them Miss Wells could do whatever she wanted…”

Declan was speechless.

He remembered that day when Vanessa said she wanted to secretly visit our baby.

After all, Camden had accidentally caused this, and as his mother, she wanted to apologize to our baby’s body in person. She was just afraid I wouldn’t agree.

So when the funeral home called, Declan thought I was deliberately interfering. He gave that order without even listening.

Turns out I wasn’t lying. That bracelet really was made from our baby’s ribs…

Declan admitted he’d neglected our baby compared to Camden.

That was because he figured our baby at least had me, while bastard children always got looked down on, so he wanted to show Camden extra love.

But he never imagined letting his own daughter’s body get desecrated, denying her a proper burial!

loved our baby so much-how much pain must I have been in… But when I needed him most, he chose to stand with another woman and called me a liar.

His mother called, her voice full of contempt for me:

‘Dear, Vanessa told me about this morning. Good riddance to Raven! What use is a hen that can’t lay eggs? I only put up with her before because her family could help you.”

‘Anyway, everyone on her side is dead now-she’s got no value left. Lucky I had the foresight to find you a good woman like Vanessa who gave you a son. I say just marry Vanessa!”

Vanessa was cunning enough-apologizing on one hand while using his mother to pressure him on the other.

How had he ever thought she was gentle and kind?

After a long silence, Declan said quietly:

“Mom, when you first brought Vanessa to me, I compromised to fulfill your wish for a grandson. But you know what? I really hate you. No mother who loves

her child would force a mistress on her son and make him divorce the wife he adores.”

“You’ll never know how ruthless I had to be to give you a good life. But your soul died long ago in that prison called carrying on the family line. You trapped yourself and destroyed my life.”

“Tomorrow 111 have someone take you back to your hometown. I’ll send living expenses monthly, but let’s not see each other again while we’re alive.

With that, Declan hung up without hesitation.

He went back upstairs and knocked on the door.

Vanessa hadn’t sensed anything wrong yet, snuggling into his arms:

“Dec, still no luck finding her? Don’t blame Raven-maybe our baby’s death hit her so hard she’s having a breakdown. After all, our batry was so adorable. 1 always loved her too…”

Before she finished speaking, Declan’s hands locked around her throat. He smiled coldly:

“Your idea of love is calling my daughter a little bitch behind my back and digging out all her ribs to make your son a bracelet?”
