Reid hesitated for a moment, narrowing his eyes at her before turning to Steven. “Wha her. Don’t be so pathetic.”
Yvonne turned and walked away.
“Yvonne!” Steven tried to chase after her, but Reid blocked his path. T

“That’s enough! Stop making a fuss–it’s not that big of a deal,” Reid said.
Steven watched as Yvonne walked farther and farther away, his eyes filled with panic and desperation. With a sudden burst of strength, he shoved Reid’s hand away so hard that Reid stumbled back.
“What the hell do you know? She’s not just any woman–she’s the before. His eyes were bloodshot, burning with unrestrained fury.

Therefore, she simply carried her shoes in her hand, walking barefoot, step by step, feeling the ground beneath her.
Wesley was driving by and spotted Yvonne from a distance, walking barefoot and carrying her shoes. He took a second look and suddenly remembered that she was the poor woman he had encountered in the hospital last time.
After driving past her, he made a U–turn and pulled up beside Yvonne, slowing down his car. He rolled down the window and leaned out, asking, “Do you need help?”
Yvonne paused, looked up, and saw Wesley’s mature and composed face with a hint of detachment. “Dr. Godfrey?”
Wesley was a bit surprised that she remembered him. “Where are you headed? I’ll give you a ride.”
Yvonne thought for a moment. Her feet were hurting, and it was clear that continuing on foot would only make things worse for her. Thus, without hesitation, she opened the car door and got in.
“Thanks,” she said to Wesley.
“Address.” Wesley’s voice was nonchalant.
Yvonne gave him a location.
Wesley nodded and added, “30 dollars.”
“What?” Yvonne was a bit confused.
“Fare,” Wesley clarified.
Yvonne was taken aback. She glanced at the car’s logo, recognizing it as a BMW X6. Wesley didn’t seem like someone who needed the money.
But he had helped her, after all. So she took out her phone and said, “I don’t have cash. I’ll transfer it to you.”
Wesley furrowed his brow and, while waiting at a red light, opened the PayPal app and handed his phone to Yvonne. Yvonne was a bit surprised; it felt like he was trying to hide his WhatsApp account from her.
She transferred the money to him.
Wesley was a man of few words, and he drove in silence the entire way. The atmosphere inside the car was somewhat awkward. Yvonne didn’t feel like talking either, only occasionally glancing out the window.
The car moved smoothly and soon arrived at the place Yvonne had specified. Wesley parked the car and still didn’t say anything extra..
Yvonne unbuckled her seatbelt, murmured a quiet “Thanks,” and reached for the door handle to get out.
“Wait,” Wesley called out, rummaging through a drawer in the car and pulling out two band–aids, which he handed to her. “I dollar.
Yvonne looked at the band–aids, then at him, but in the end, she took them and transferred 1 dollar to him.

As soon as she closed the car door, Wesley drove off.
Yvonne stood there, watching the car disappear into the distance, feeling a bit thoughtful. She found Wesley quite interesting.
