Chapter 3
I looked at Knox with a smile, the man who
helped me collect my body after I died.
My interactions with Knox had been brief. Not
long ago, when he was being bullied and hurt,
I’d said a few words to help him out and had
someone send him medicine.
It was just a small thing, just a moment of
kindness. But Knox remembered it for a long
time.
In my last life, after Gavin stabbed me to death,
he threw my body into the wilderness to destroy
- it.
Knox was the one who searched for days and
nights. He was the one who put my body back
together and brought it back.
While everyone was discussing and thinking I
was destined to fail, Knox came out of the cage
and stood behind me.
Maddie was shocked, a hint of jealousy in her
eyes.
“Shay Fairchild, what did you do? Why is this
thrall willing to go with you?”
I looked at Gavin, who was being led out.
く
“You should be more concerned about your
own thrall. Knox doesn’t need you to worry
about him.”
I was ready to leave with Knox, but something unexpected happened.
When Gavin passed by me, he suddenly struggled free and lunged at me.
I took a step back instinctively, and Knox stood
in front of me, warning Gavin with a cold look.
“Get out of the way, or don’t blame me for
being impolite!”
Gavin fell to the ground like a dog, crawling
toward me, his eyes red.
“Please, please, be my owner, okay?”
I was surprised. Gavin was begging me to be
his owner.
his owner.
I gently pushed Knox aside and sized Gavin up.
“Why do you want me to be your owner?
Someone has already bid on you. Isn’t that
bad?”
Gavin looked confused.
“That’s not how it’s supposed to be. It’s not
supposed to be her. Please, be my owner…”
Beg me?
That’s not what Gavin said last time.
I smiled and kicked Gavin away, slowly opening
my mouth, ignoring Maddie’s murderous gaze.
“I’m sorry, I’ve already picked a thrall. My dear cousin, this time it’s not me fighting you for something. It’s that the dog you picked isn’t

listening to you.”
Maddie slapped Gavin in the face, fully displaying her domineering nature.
“You’re just a lowlife thrall! What gives you the right to reject me! Someone, hit him! No one has ever been able to reject what I want!”
I didn’t expect Maddie to lose her temper and have people beat Gavin up. After all, they were supposed to be in love in their last life.
When Gavin was dragged away, there was a hint of hatred in his eyes as he looked at
Maddie.
Of course, the reason they were like this might have been because I took Gavin away, and
Maddie was just used to fighting over things.
But now, Gavin didn’t know what was going on. He was begging me to take him in front of
<
Maddie.
For Maddie, who has always been competitive
and likes to compare herself to me in
everything, Gavin was openly slapping her in the
face.
With that in mind, I looked at Knox behind me,
hoping he wouldn’t disappoint me.
