Chapter 2
The auction was in full swing. Gavin was being
treated like merchandise, and people kept
shouting out higher and higher prices.
“Ten million!”
“I’ll give you twenty million!”
“Thirty million!”
I sipped my red wine and watched Gavin’s
expression in the cage.
く
With every bid, I could see the despair in
Gavin’s eyes growing.
Right now, he was just a lowlife thrall being
publicly auctioned off for entertainment. But
even a lowlife thrall like that would turn around
and bite his benefactor.
He’s just an ungrateful bastard. In that case, I
wouldn’t mind being the one to send him
straight to hell.
When Gavin saw me, he suddenly looked at me
with an urgent look, his eyes filled with pleading
and hope.
“Help…help me.”
Help him?
This is exactly what he wanted, isn’t it?
Last time, I tried to help him, but he blamed me
<
for meddling and ruined my life.
This time, I’m sure my dear cousin will come to
save him.
After all, last time, Maddie and I fought over
Gavin when I bid on him.
That’s why Gavin complained that I stole him
from her and stopped him from being with her.
Sure enough, a shrill voice rang out. It was my
dear cousin, Madison Fairchild.
“I’ll give you fifty million! I want him! Who dares
to fight me for him!”
When Maddie showed up, everyone backed
down to save face. When she noticed Gavin’s
gaze, she looked at me provocatively.
“Sis is here too? Have you picked out your thrall yet? Don’t tell me you want to fight me
<
thrall yet? Don’t tell me you want to fight me
for this lowlife thrall? This time, I saw him first.”
Great, another murderer who harmed me in my
last life showed up.
Maddie and Gavin, are you ready to face my
revenge?
Maddie and I are known as mortal enemies.
Since we were kids, we’ve fought to the death
over anything the other one wanted.
The place went silent instantly. Everyone was
waiting to see a good show.
I shook my head.
“I’m not interested in something so superficial.”
Gavin could use me, and he could use Maddie.
This time, I’ll let them have each other.
Maddie looked at me suspiciously, pressing me.
“You’re not interested? Haha, so who did you
pick?”
I pointed to the thrall in the corner, a tall guy
who had been ignored the entire time.
“I choose him.”
During the auction, I had been watching him for
a long time.
Knox Blackwood, a wolf shifter. He’s the
strongest thrall in the entire underground
market and has been here the longest.
Someone had bid on him before, but Knox
almost killed them. Because of that, people
kept their distance from him.
Knox in the corner glanced at me with a
coldness in his eyes, then looked away.
When Maddie saw that, she mocked.
“Are you sure you want to pick him as your thrall? He’s the most vicious and strongest
thrall here. No one has ever been able to tame
him. Be careful he doesn’t bite you to death.”
I nodded and walked toward Knox, personally
opening the iron cage.
“Do you want to come with me? As a free
man.”
