WASTED LOVE, REGRET FOR ETERNITY 30

Chapter 20

Davina’s POV

After Cleo’s ridiculous stunt, the royal family finally slapped her with a lockdown order and shipped her off under guard to some remote estateofficially for her protection and recovery,” but everyone knew it was punishment in disguise.

No visitors. No phone. No contact with the outside world

This time, none of her manipulative games worked

She trashed the place, screamed her head off, broke furniture like a lunatic. And no one gave a damn.

Meanwhile, my life was just getting started

Humphrey’s proposal didn’t come with fireworks or violins

Just one line, straight from the heart. Davina, can we finally get married?”

I nodded, smiling through tears

After everything, I finally got to breathe

Turns out, real happiness isn’t loudit’s quiet and simple

The wedding, though, was loud

Humphrey and Grandpa Gilbert weren’t about to let me walk down the aisle without the whole world watching. In a couture gown Grandpa himself had customized, I slowly walked down the long garden steps of the estate

With each step, it felt like I was crushing the past beneath my feet

The long gown trailed behind me, and sunlight spilled over my body

Humphrey stood at the end in a suit, his gaze as steady and gentle as everfocused only on me

Davina,he said, I’ll love you, protect you, and spoil you till the day I die.}

I smirked through my tears. You better.

After the wedding, we finally left for the honeymoon we’d dreamed about

Santorini, Paris, Iceland, the Amalfi Coast…

Like two lovers lost in a dream, we kissed and held each other in every corner of the world

From snowcovered peaks to sunlit shores, from rolling meadows to misty highlands, from quiet lakes to wild forests, from the northern lights in Iceland to the penguins in Antarctica…

We left pieces of our love in every place we wandered, memories meant for no one else but us

When the trip ended, the doctor handed me the test results with a cheerful smile

Congratulations. You’re six weeks pregnant.

My hands trembled slightly as I held the report, and tears welled up in my eyes

My husband wrapped me in a hug, his voice trembling with joy he couldn’t contain.

Sweetheart.. we’re having a baby.”

I leaned against his chest, and tears quietly slid down my cheeks

These tears were for happiness, for the future, for everything beautiful

Cleo’s POV

While Davina was probably lavishing in happiness, my fuckinv fall from grace was only getting worse

Just when I thought I was finally free to crawl back into the spotlight, the fucking royal family broke new bad news to me.

An arranged marriage! The groom? A tribal chief from Africawith eight wives and more than a dozen children

He publicly declared, If the royal family lets me marry this princess,I’m willing to pay off all their debts.”

And they did! They chose me!?

The moment I found out who I was supposed to marry, I completely lost it

I won’t go! I’m a princess! You can’t do this to me!

Princess? Oh, you’ve really been dreaming in broad daylight

You really thought a fake DNA test would fool everyone? You really think the whole world is full of idiots?! Here’s something for youthe one who treats others like fools is the biggest fool of all

You’re marrying that chief. Even if you dieyou’ll die on his bed!

The royal family members looked down at me while I literally was screaming and writhing on the floor

I collapsed on the polished marble, my face pressed against the freezing floor

My tears probably shimmered like rage and filth under the chandeliers

I cried, my voice hoarse and shaking, Why meWhy the hell me”
