Chapter 25 Off Limit
Bonnie was still in a trance when the man threw the phone at her face.
She saw her scandals were trending online.

All of it was out now. She had kept models, crashed her car drunk and had someone else take the fall, gambled away a fortune, and even taken bribes.
“I’m sorry, honey. I really am. Bonnie tried to change his mind, but her husband was done. He already had his heart set on divorce.
She dropped to the floor and wrapped her arms around his leg, begging, weeping–until she looked up and saw Natalie sitting across from her. That woman was casually snacking, and she looked like she was enjoying the drama.
“It was you! You did this to me!”
Natalie challenged. “That’s the price you pay for messing with my son. If you’re not afraid of the consequences, keep going. You can continue testing my limit.”
She smiled elegantly: her eyes and cool expression exuded an effortless arrogance.
Bonnie was livid. “Natalie, why are you so full of yourself, huh? You’re not some princess anymore! Without your daddy backing you, you’re nothing!”
The show was over. Natalie clapped her hands and stood up, ready to leave.
“If I were you, I’d focus on eating well tonight. Jail food doesn’t exactly come with five–star reviews.”
Bonnie had driven drunk, caused a hit–and–run, and paid someone to take the blame. If the internet hadn’t exposed it, it would have remained hidden. Now, she was staring at jail time. Solo cell. No escape.
Her breathing grew erratic. If she had to go down, she wasn’t going to do it alone.
“Natalie, bet you didn’t know. Your dad got hurt because of you-”
Before she could finish, a group of men in black suits and sunglasses stormed in.
The bar’s music stopped mid–beat. Silence fell. Then came the crisp thud of leather shoes hitting the floor.
From the shadows, Jonathan appeared–impeccably dressed in a fitted black suit, his face sharp, cold, and ruthless.
He glanced at the man in uniform and warned, “Can’t control your wife’s mouth? Then, you can hand in your badge at the station tomorrow morning.”
Oscar Cantrell dared not raise his head. He grabbed Bonnie’s arm and dragged her toward the exit.
“How dare you bring up Rolf Solaria? Are you out of your mind?” he hissed as they left. “You know that name is off–limits in Regalia! If you’ve got a death wish, don’t drag me down with you! Tomorrow morning–we’re filing for divorce at City Hall.”
Trying to win him back, Bonnie clung to his arm. “Honey, listen–my brother is already working with the Oracle of Stocks. In no time, our family’s going to be Regalia’s next rising star.
“Soon, we’ll be right up there with the Hyperions! If you don’t divorce me, I swear I’ll get him to help you land the position you’ve always dreamed of
Oscar frowned. His instincts as a cop told him something wasn’t right.
Why would someone as powerful and well–connected as the Oracle choose to team up with Jacques–a complete loser- instead of Jonathan, who had both strength and influence?
You better remind your brother this might be a setup.”
“You think Ms. Oracle is trying to hurt him? That’s ridiculous! Just like Natalie, Ms. Oracle is completely in love with my

brother. She’d never harm him.”
Bonnie said it with absolute confidence.
Oscar snorted.
“I don’t know what trick your brother pulled to make Natalie fall for him, but Ms. Oracle isn’t some love–struck fool. In terms of status, ability, and character–your brother doesn’t even come close.”
Bonnie just waved it off. “So what? Natalie used to be the princess of Regalia, right? Still fell for my brother back when he had nothing. That’s just the kind of charm he’s got.”
Charm, huh? More like black magic.
Oscar didn’t buy it. He stared at his wife suspiciously.
“Don’t tell me your brother cast some black magic on Natalic or something.”
Bonnie froze, a flicker of guilt in her expression. “Don’t be ridiculous.”
On the drive back home, the car was quiet.
Bartemius was intentionally driving slow,
Next to him, Natalie sat in an off–shoulder black dress cinched tightly at the waist, a man’s jacket draped over her shoulders to cover her curves. The way it hung over her elegant figure annoyed Jonathan to no end.
His breath grew heavier as he tried to calm the sudden urge to rip it off her and toss it out the window.
Natalie broke the silence. “What were you doing at the bar!”
He didn’t let the word “to see you” slip out. Instead, Jonathan casually replied, “I’m meeting Nelson for a drink.”
Again, with Nelson? Funny–I hadn’t seen him at the bar
“And why were you with Jeremiah? Aren’t you supposed to be…? Jonathan asked, but he stopped himself halfway.
She hated it when he asked about her life.
Whenever he questioned her, she would become angry and accuse him of being a pervert and control freak.
“Being with whom? Jacques?” Natalie guessed what he was trying to ask. “Jacques was on campus today to pick up Bonnie. 1 just bumped into Jeremiah by chance.”
Jonathan frowned. So he’d misunderstood.
He wanted to explain something, but Natalie suddenly sneezed.
She must’ve caught a cold from the rain earlier.
Without a word, Jonathan pulled off the jacket she was wearing and gently laid his coat over her shoulders.
The car rolled through the gates of the estate.
Inside, Natalie spotted Christopher standing in the doorway, dressed in cozy pajamas.
“I shouldn’t have lied and said you pushed me just to make you and Jonathan get divorced faster,” the boy mumbled, head turned to the side in guilt. I’m sorry.”
Td misunderstood you today.” Jonathan said quietly.
