Chapter 4
At ten o’clock in the evening, I was lying in bed, reading the script that Michael had sent me and studying the makeup for my character.
Zachary called me. “Stella, where have you been? And why are all your things at home missing?”
I coldly replied, “Since we are getting divorced, I have moved my things out. Remember to prepare
the divorce agreement.”
“No, Stella. I don’t want to divorce you. Please listen to me. Can you give me a chance to explain?”
The next day, I met Zachary in a coffee shop.
He seemed to have not slept all night, with stubble covering his chin. He even had dark circles
under his eyes. He was still wearing the same clothes as yesterday.
I had known Zachary for eight years, and I had never seen him so desolate.
Without waiting for him to speak, I said, “Do you remember what we are supposed to do this
month?”
Zachary’s eyes lit up with joy, and he exclaimed excitedly, “Of course I remember. We are going to Lansborg to fulfill our wishes.”
“Stella, don’t worry. I have arranged everything. I have booked the plane tickets.”
Seeing I remained calm, he tentatively said, “Stella, would you come home with me? I can’t sleep
when you’re not at home.”
I sipped my coffee and said, “I just wanted to fulfill my grandmother’s last wish. When I come back from Lansborg, we will get divorced.”
The next morning at nine o’clock, Zachary waited for me downstairs on time.
As soon as I got in the car, he handed me my favorite breakfast.
He looked delightful but shy.
It made me feel as if I had gone back to the time when he was pursuing me. At that time, he would
put the food I liked into my hands, and he dared not to look at me.
I tittered and indifferently said, “Thank you.”
The delight in Zachary’s eyes disappeared instantly.

Everything went smoothly. Just as we boarded the plane, Zachary received a phone call.
I faintly heard the cry of a woman.
He became completely flustered, and I asked, “Is something wrong?”
Zachary forced himself to remain calm and forced a smile, saying, “It’s alright. Even if something
is wrong, it won’t be more important than accompanying you to fulfill your wishes.”
I closed my eyes to rest, but I could sense his absent–mindedness and anxiety.
Just as the cabin door was about to close, Zachary quickly ran off the plane after apologizing in my
ear.
Watching him running farther and farther away from me, I quietly shed tears.
