That once passionate, sincere love I had given him so freely had already been worn away during those ten long years of marriage.
“I’m sorry. There’s really no chance for us anymore,” I said softly.
He lowered his eyes in quiet sadness, then looked back up and gave me a small, bittersweet smile.

Chapter 9
“Alright, that’s okay. Being your brother is still a blessing,” he said.
June’s voice snapped me back to the present.
In the dining room, the four of us sat around a square table, each at one side.
Out of the corner of my eye, I glanced at Sebastian.

Compared to the Sebastian at 20 from the last timeline, the man before me now carried himself with a gentler, more refined grace
-mature, poised, yet warmer somehow.
A wave of emotion washed over me, part awe, part disbelief.
It was good. He was alive, and everything had truly changed.
Callum raised his glass and smiled warmly at me. “Sia, why don’t you say a few words for Sebastian’s birthday?”
I snapped out of my daze, smiled, and agreed.
Lifting my glass toward him, I said, “May you live a peaceful, joyful life. May all your wishes come true.”
Sebastian blinked, caught off guard for a moment. Then he quickly recovered, clinking his glass lightly against mine.
“You too, Sia. I’ll be a good brother to you, and I’ll protect you for the rest of my life,” he said with a smile.
The clinking of glasses echoed warmly around the room. In that moment, the love I had held onto for more than a decade was
finally let go.
We all enjoyed the meal that night.
The heavy burden on my heart had finally lifted.
From here on out, there would only be peace, happiness, and a life where everything would fall into place.
The end.
