“I need to start preparing. I can’t wait any more,” I said to Jerome, my Beta.
We were both at the company attending to work in my office, when I called my Beta in to sit down for an important discussion.
“Alpha, are you sure you want to start this quick?” He asked, looking bothered.
With determination, I answered him, “I am absolutely sure, Jerome. This wedding needs to take place early. I can no longer wait for three months.”
I have been thinking about this overnight, and I feel it’s best Estelle and I hurry this up

It’s been three days since that incident with Estelle, and I can’t help but feel upset with myself for yelling at my sweetheart.
She has every right to be upset with that woman. She is an obstacle in our way, all because she wants to fulfill a promise she made to my late father.

If my wedding is what is keeping her in my home up till now, then I’m going to get married early and get her to sign that divorce

dropping down a note for my Beta to start his search.
“I’ll also get my soon to be father in–law on this, so he can also help us in the preparation. This wedding is going to be a memorable one,” I chuckled, visualizing how that day would be.
But my Beta… He wasn’t rejoicing with me.
He seemed to be lost in his own thoughts.

“Ex–Luna,” I corrected, having an iota of disgust for that title being used on Brielle.
Do I have to keep on correcting everyone on who their true Luna is?
“Sorry, your Ex–Luna, ” He corrected himself.
“Good. And concerning the council members… I’ll just find a way to see them. Yes, I will,” I said to Jerome, even though I wasn’t sure about it.
Amidst my plans, I didn’t include the council members, forgetting that their presence is very important, if I want mine and Estelle’s wedding to be a success.

I had to pause to check the call, only to see a familiar name on my screen, which left my heart skipping in surprise.
A smile crept across my face, as I answered the call without delaying.
“Yes, good day to you…. Oh, really? That’s wonderful news, “I chuckled, stepping away from my desk while my Beta watched on.
“Indeed it’s a great news. I can’t wait for the D day. Thank you, “I laughed, ending the call.
Looking at my Beta, I joyfully said, ” Guess who’s going to be the face of the number one business man of the year.”
“You won? Congratulations!”

Jerome got to his feet to shake hands with me. But I was too excited for a handshake.
Instead, I pulled him in for a hug, feeling great.
The heaven knows how hard I’ve worked my ass to be the best business man among other top business men and packs.
I made sure every other companies, who thought I couldn’t do anything after my father’s death, swallowed back their doubts and feared me instead.
This is what I’ve been waiting for.
“I was told they’ll publicize it on the media for everyone to see. There’s going to be an award ceremony coming up next week Wednesday. I need to get myself ready for it. I’m so excited!” I groaned with delight,

He congratulated me once again, suggesting we place the wedding preparation aside and focus on my win.
“We need to make this grand, Alpha.”
“Yes, everyone needs to see the new face of the business world. I am the number one,” I said with pride.
Filled with excitement, I decided to head back to the mansion early and share the good news with Estelle.
“This is the hour of celebration. Jerome, take over. I’ll be heading home.”
“Alright Alpha. Congratulations again,” He wished, smiling.

Thrilled, I grabbed my phone and hurried out of the company, getting into my car with my guard driving me back to the mansion.
“Estelle is going to be so happy to hear this” I smiled, taking out my phone to check if the media has started displaying the news publicly.
A few minutes later, I arrived back at the mansion, rushing out of the car, and into the mansion to look for Estelle.
“Estelle!!” I called out, stepping into the opened hall in my mansion.
That’s when I spotted my beautiful Luna stepping down the stairs in a hot fitted red dress.
Her hair was flowing down on her shoulders, as she cat walked down the stairs with style.

When she faced my way, she became surprised to see me home early. And when I saw her eyes grow large at my presence, I felt my body shiver in a strange way.
It was weird, but I immediately took my eyes off her, facing my beautiful Estelle.
“Where’s the surprise, dear? ” Estelle asked, getting all excited.
That’s when I grabbed the remote and turned on the screen, switching it to one of the stations.
To everyone’s surprise and to my sweet Estelle’s, the news of my achievement came on, portraying me as the number one business man of the year.

“YES!” Estelle screamed out, jumping right on me for a big hug.
I laughed as she began kissing my face, congratulating me on my victory.
“I knew you could do it! Oh, I’m so happy for you my love. Congratulations!” She screamed, kissing me.
I was chuckling at her excitement, still having my arms wrapped around Estelle, hugging her close.
“Of course I could do it,” I rejoiced with her.
When I lifted my eyes while hugging Estelle close, it came falling on Brielle who still had her gaze on the TV, looking stunned at the

Her expression slowly drifted into a smile, which left me feeling… Unusual.
It looked… Beautiful?
She turned to face me, still twinkling at my success. But she couldn’t say a word. She just stood there, smiling.
When I saw this, my body came heating up, leaving me uncomfortable.
Quickly, I took my eyes off her, facing my Estelle once again.
“Why is she just staring like it’s the first time she’s seeing me?” I questioned myself, trying to keep my eyes on only Estelle.
But it was hard to do so.

Her eyes… They never left my point.
Her cheek came glowing red, staring right at me with those smiles plastered across her face.
Her hand slowly came lifting to the side of her face, as she tucked her hair to the back of her ear, before breaking the eye lock with me, getting back to work.
I couldn’t explain how I was feeling at the moment. The sight of Brielle’s smile left me feeling odd.

Just then, Estelle suggested that we celebrate my achievement, taking my attention off Brielle.

We need to party. Oh, I’m so happy!” She shrieked in delight, taking hold of my hand and pulling me along with her, out of the living room.
When Estelle did this, I took another look at Brielle, and found her already staring.
When she realized this, she flushed in embarrassment, looking away.
That blush… It sent a sudden wave around my body, causing me to also look away, feeling awkward.
“What is going on with me?” I couldn’t understand.

Alpha Deron was present. He had seen the news and decided to come over to rejoice with us..
“Let’s have a toast to my son in–law, who has won the number one spot as the number one business man of the year, ” Alpha Deron cheered, waving his empty wine glass.
Estelle, Jerome and I chuckled at Alpha Devon’s excitement, calling for more wine.
It was Estelle who did the calling.
“Where is the new wine?” She questioned out to the maids who were standing aside, waiting to attend to our needs.
“You’re just standing there like poles. Who’s the person that went to…”

“It’s here,” Brielle’s voice came in.
I looked towards the corner that led to the kitchen and saw her hurrying with the wine Estelle sent for.
Her face dampen with sweat, hurrying to attend to us.
She has been working since Estelle started this arrangement. I’ve been seeing her in the kitchen with the other maids, working.
Now seeing her coming to serve our wine, felt disturbing.
Is it because of how she fell ill over that punishment?
That should be the reason why I’m feeling this way towards her.

“It’s about time. I hope you didn’t poison this drink?” Estelle questioned, glaring at Brielle.
Brielle swayed her head, saying,” No, I didn’t do anything like that. The wine isn’t opened yet. It’s new.”
“It better be,” Estelle groaned, rolling her eyes at Brielle.
“Watch how you serve that wine, because if you spill that on me like the last time, I’ll forget this is a celebration and put you in your place,” Alpha Deron warned, stretching out his glass at Brielle.
“It won’t happen, I promise,” Brielle assured, making a promise to something she didn’t do.

trying her best to be careful. When she came before me, pouring the wine into my glass, she began glancing at me while trying to focus.
This was just like in the living room. The same way she was staring instead of working.
Her face came flushing red, as she tried to stay focus, slowly trembling before me.
The sight of this disturbed me. I couldn’t stand it.
“Why are you slow?!” Estelle yelled out suddenly.
Her voice caused Brielle to shiver, almost pouring the wine on me. Quickly, I used my speed in grabbing her hand, positioning the wine from turning over.

And the moment I held Brielle’s hand, I… I felt something!
Something like a strong wave of energy had travelled around my body when I held her hand.
What was that?
Brielle turned to face me, looking surprised.
She glanced at our hands then at my face, before pulling away, stepping aside.
Her hand left mine, as well as that strong wave. But my body still had the feeling all around.
“I’m sorry,” She apologized, exiting the room without looking back.

“Useless. She almost poured the drink on my Argon. That’s how clumsy she is, ” Estelle mocked, laughing along with her father.
My Beta just glanced at them, then at me, sipping from his wine.
I said nothing but dropped my gaze on Brielle, who was returning to the kitchen.
I slowly closed my hand, still feeling that
wave.
“What was that?”
After the celebration, Alpha Deron left my home with Estelle. She promised to return. tomorrow with something special for me, keeping me in suspense.

As I drew closer to the bottom of the stairs, my eyes caught sight of… Brielle!

“Why is she still awake by this time?” I asked in curiosity, slowly following her from behind.
Brielle stopped at one of the washrooms at the end of the hallway and went in.
I drew closer and saw her settling the clothes down to wash.

out.
I watched how she contemplated on what to do first, looking all stressed out.
The sight of this suddenly took my mind to all the work she has been doing lately.

Her petrified face when Estelle gave her a heart attack at the party, engulfed my thoughts.

She had seen me.
She quickly composed herself like the way the maids usually do whenever they see me, asking, “Do you need something?”

I stretched out my hand, ordering her, “Give me your hand.”
Brielle stared at me in confusion, unable to understand why.
