Chapter 9
In the past two months, I went to many places and saw many beautiful sights.
Endless snow–capped mountains, boundless flower fields, desolate and majestic desert sunsets, deep and hidden caves, and vibrant and colorful underwater scenes
I enjoyed freedom and life to the fullest.
I had a lot of different thoughts about myself and the world than before.
My skin became darker and rougher.
But the muscles and spirit also became more full,
I entered the world of independent individuals, where the rules of the game were health, freedom, wealth, and power.
I returned to the company with a heart full of inspiration and made great strides in the wedding industry
It also explores other fields.
I rarely thought about Edwin, only occasionally hearing them talk about him when I had a drink at the bar.
Edwin returned to his previous state again.
Lsquandered money in the bar and got drunk. The women around me changed in less than a week.
The company completely neglected its affairs.
The racing cars would go all out and speed up every time.
Demarion was constantly worried and felt like an eunuch every day, and he was even being despised by Edwin.
Finally, the two of them had a big fight and completely fell out.
When I heard these, I didn’t feel upset or happy, but rather a special calmness.
I really let g
I go.
At the end of the day.
Just got out of the underground garage and took out the car keys
Suddenly, someone covered my mouth with a cloth from behind, and I instantly lost consciousness.
Waking up again, I found myself in Edwin’s mansion.
I used to sit cross–legged on the sofa and cuddle with Edwin in that row.
There were two people sitting across from me, Edwin’s parents. However, it had been half a year since I last
lot.
It saw them, and they seemed to have aged a
Edwin’s mother, who never hesitated to spend money on maintenance, now has deep wrinkles on her forehead. I glared at them.
“What do you two want by using such despicable means to bring me here?”
Edwin’s father sat upright, with a stem expression on his face, indicating that he had no intention of speaking
After a moment of stalemate, Edwin’s mother finally apologized with a remorseful expression, “Miss Warner, I’m really sorry for rudely asking you to come over, but we really have no other choice…”
“Edwin, that child, did something that hurt you, and it’s my fault as a mother for not properly educating him. I apologize to you.”
“I invited you to come today because I wanted to ask for your help,”
“Help us
is persuade Edwin, after you left, he fell apart, drinking heavily every day and even went drag racing. I’m afraid if this continues, he…!
“We only have this one child, please help us, pity the hearts of parents all over the world!”
In the past, this child quit these bad habits for you, but started again after you lett. He has you in his heart, only you can help him quit these and get back on track. I beg you, as a mother, please persuade him.”

Edwin’s mother spoke with tears streaming down her face. I silently clenched my list.
“Ma’am, you have mistaken the person.”
“I couldn’t do these things, and I didn’t want to do th
them either.”
“If you use these aggressive methods against me again, I don’t mind pushing Edwin to become even crazier, Edwin’s mother said, her face contorted in pain as she covered her mouth.
“Sorry…”
“I won’t bother you anymore in the future.”
As soon as the words fell, I heard a deep and sinister male voice coming from behind, sending shivers down my spine.
“Who brought her here?”
I turned my face and met Edwin’s flushed eyes.
His cheeks had lost some flesh, and his skin had a unhealthy pale color.
The body remained tall and upright, wrapped in a coat
With thick eyebrows and handsome eyes, he appeared deep and sinister, as if a storm was brewing in the darkness, causing fear and trepidation. “Everyone, get out!”
He roared angrily, I quickly got up and walked away.
There came the sound of a vase falling and shattering behind, along with Edwin’s father’s angry reprimand and Edwin’s mother’s crying
ne slap after another landed on Edwin’s face, but he stubbornly endured, screaming hysterically, “Go away! Just go away!”
“Who brought you here? I didn’t want to see you!”
I stopped in my tracks and turned my face to witness this family farce.
“Edwin.”
The hall fell eerily silent as 1 let out a faint, strange sound
Edwin’s parents all looked at me in unison.
Edwin stood motionless, facing me.
I saw his messy hair and swollen face.
“Don’t yell at your mother like that.”
Take care and live a good life from now on.‘
