Day seven.
On the murky water, a small rubber dinghy drifted.
This was the only supply that had abruptly appeared on the apartment’s balcony when the system announced our entry into the final phase.
Chloe and I sat side by side in the dinghy, drifting through this completely submerged, silent city.
Finally, Chloe broke the silence.
“The last day, it’s for us to kill each other, right?”
nodded, facing her openly.
“You have higher combat power. Go ahead and kill me if you want.”
She clicked her tongue, turning her face away expressionlessly.
“You think I’m an animal like Finn?”

Chloe and I were on the same side from the very beginning.
We
were reborn.
In our previous life, when everyone knew it was a heavy rain apocalypse, Finn chose reverse photosynthesis.
And I, to help my classmates, chose the food factory as a safe house and infinite storage space as my ability.
I formed a large team, letting them use my resources freely.
Most people chose teleportation as their ability, exploring everywhere in the apocalypse with no survival pressure.
In Phase Two, Finn suddenly pleaded with me for more resources, saying he only wanted to team up with me, that he could protect me from harm in the apocalypse, and we could clear the game together.
I was naive enough to fall for it. Although I didn’t agree to abandon my teammates, I showed him where to find resources.
He immediately posted our chat history in the group,
I was ambushed by my furious teammates and severely injured. My resources were “painfully” taken over by Finn.
They locked me in a warehouse to die, and Finn threw one last line at me.
“Only Chloe deserves our protection. As for you, you’re just a pawn. Be smarter next life. No one will thank you for helping.”
