Day five.
The floodwaters had swallowed most of the low–rise buildings.
The rain had lessened, but it was still relentless, drumming a dull rhythm against the apartment windows.
The class group chat was dead silent. The number of survivors had dwindled to “17/50.”
Curses and pleas had vanished, replaced only by occasional pop–up coordinates for help, quick notifications.
In this suffocating silence, an unexpected avatar spoke in the group chat.
Chloe.
covered by new death
“@Everyone, I was too impulsive before… couldn’t see the situation clearly, and I’ve caused everyone so much trouble now…”
2:50 PM
Every word dripped with caution, a stark contrast to her previous image as the popular, pampered darling.
She sent a photo: the island was completely submerged, and she stood isolated on a small hill, surrounded by a pile of disorganized supplies.
Her tone was utterly humble.
“All my teammates are gone. Please, considering we were classmates… who’s willing to team up with me?”
“I’ll take out all the resources in my storage space! I just beg for a chance to team up…”
She shared a string of coordinates.
“This is my location… I don’t want anything… I just want to be with everyone… *sniffle*…”
”
The message had been sent for a while before someone finally broke the silence, their voice thick with undisguised sarcasm.
“Chloe? Our noble queen bee, didn’t you have a legion of simp–knights protecting you? Weren’t you going to have a beach party? Did your knights all become fish food?”

“You’ll take out all your resources? Who’d believe that! Isn’t your space bound to you? Who knows if you’ll keep some back! Trying to trick people into being cannon fodder for you again?”
“Get lost! Just seeing your name annoys me! If you hadn’t given us terrible advice and misled everyone into choosing water resources, would we be this miserable?!”
The pampered darling, once the apple of everyone’s eye, was now
team–up request.
HARAPANversally despised. Not a single person responded to her
About half an hour later, several extremely panicked messages suddenly popped up in the group.
“Chipe! You f***ing b*tch!! You evil witch!!”
“Those coordinates are the floodgates!”
“We just teleported over and got swept away!! Liam and Noah are gone!!
gone!! Ah-!!”
The messages cut off abruptly, and the system displayed cold notifications.
“Liam has left the group chat.”
“Noah has left the group chat.“‘
“Owen has left the group chat.”
A few seconds later, a hoarse voice, trembling with surviving trauma and bone–deep hatred, spoke in the group chat:
“Zack said before he died… that the teammates on the island… were deliberately
that’s how they died…”
She killed all her teammates… Don’t trust her, anyone!!”
Chloe’s avatar never lit up again.
