Chapter 48 Did I Disturb You?
Behind the hotel was a manor–style flowerbed lawn. There was a long table on the lawn. The table was covered with a white cloth and there were all kinds of delicacies on it.
When Elaine found Horacio, he was holding a piece of cake. His gaze fell on Daniel, who was talking to someone beside the fountain.
She patted his shoulder from behind. Perhaps she had frightened him, but his reaction was so great that the cake in his hand almost fell to the ground.
When Horacio saw that it was her, he took a deep breath and asked, “How did you get in?”
“Walked in on two legs.” She took the untouched cake from his hand, speared a small piece, and took a bite. It tasted like the blueberry she loved.
Horacio did not like sweets to begin with, so he was only pretending to take a piece of cake. “No, I mean… “She knew what he was going to ask and quickly interrupted him. “Have you spoken to Daniel?”
Horacio scratched his head. “I haven’t found the right time yet.”
She glanced at Daniel by the fountain. “This cake is not bad. Continue

Daniel was talking to two or three people. This was not a good time to take the liberty to interview them. If Daniel called for security, they would be chased out of the venue.
She accidentally discovered an attic–style balcony at the side of the venue. Because the lights were dim, it was difficult for others to discover it.
She had just turned the corner when she heard the voices of a man and a woman on the balcony. “Mr. Mason.” The woman’s voice was deliberately gentle. “I’m really sorry for ruining your clothes last time.”
Elaine lifted a corner of the curtain and saw the two people on the balcony under the light of the venue. Jackson was holding a glass of champagne in his hand, and opposite him was the shy Mamic.
If not for Mamie’s reminder, she would have forgotten that Jackson’s clothes were still with her.
Initially, she wanted to find an opportunity to give him the clothes, but she had forgotten about it because of the interview with Daniel.
Jackson stood sideways. Only his indifferent and cold side profile could be seen, and only his calm and indifferent voice could be heard.

Mamie’s voice was low and soft. Looking at the handsome man in front of her, her heart suddenly sped up. Afraid that he would reject her, she looked at him eagerly.
