Chapter 42 The Lady Boss of the Wood Room
Cyrus looked at her and then at Horacio, who had a camera around his neck. He understood why they were here. “Your magazine wants to interview Daniel?”
Elaine did not waste time with him and admitted it frankly. He pondered for a moment and nodded in agreement to her request.
With Cyrus leading the way, the security guards at the door did not stop them anymore. Horacio approached and asked in a low voice, “Who is this man? Look at the two security guards. They treat him like a grandson.”
“Curiosity killed the cat.” Elaine pushed his head away and quickly followed Cyrus.
There was an iron chain bridge on the east side of the resort. Below it was a gurgling stream.
Cyrus told her that Daniel and Jackson would go for lunch together after the reconnaissance. They would pass by here when the time came so that they could wait here. Beside the iron chain bridge was a wooden book house. It was antique and very elegant.
Under the umbrella outside the wooden house, there was a retro rosewood table and two rattan chairs. They were ancient relics of the

previous dynasty.
Horacio was taking pictures with his camera. He was in a surprisingly good mood. He didn’t look like he was on a mission interview, but like he was on vacation.
Elaine looked at him jumping around like a monkey and shook his head helplessly. He stood on the iron chain bridge for a while and entered the book house in boredom.
The person who ran the book house was a woman in a dress. The tea- colored dress was embroidered with exquisite patterns. She was about thirty–five or thirty–six years old. Her hair was tied up, and her skin was fair. There was a classical charm to her maturity.
The lady boss was sitting at the counter with a book and a cup of coffee beside her. When she saw someone enter, she was stunned. Clearly, she did not expect a guest. She put down the book in her hand with a quiet smile on her face. “Hello, what book do you need?”
Elaine was just a last–minute thought. She could not remember what book she needed to buy at the moment. She said softly, “I’ll just take a
look.”
The lady boss nodded and ignored her. She sat down again and picked up the book on the table to continue reading. Occasionally, she would take a sip of coffee.
Elaine looked around the book room. Although it was small, it had all

the essentials. The furnishings inside were elegant and quiet. All kinds of books were placed on the shelves in an orderly manner. It was very easy to find.
She took a copy of Never Forget and placed it in front of the counter. The proprietress scanned the title. “Twenty–eight dollars.”
She paid the bill and left the book room. She lay down on the wicker chair under the sun umbrella and began to read proudly. A moment later, she felt someone approaching. She turned her head slightly and saw the lady boss placing a cup of coffee by her hand.
She looked up at her in surprise. The lady boss smiled and said, “You’re the first customer in my shop. This coffee is for free.”
She asked in surprise, “The first guest of the day?”
The lady boss shook her head. “She’s the first customer in half a month.”
Elaine suddenly remembered that this place was still under construction and there were security guards at the entrance. Unauthorized people were not allowed to enter. It was normal for there to be no guests.
She smiled gently. “Thank you.” After a pause, she continued, “Actually, you can wait for the resort to be completed before opening for business. With the current situation, not only will you not be able to earn money, but you will also waste your time. “The lady boss spread

her hands indifferently. “It’s quiet here. I like the environment here.”
The environment was indeed good, but it was too boring to stay here alone for a long time.
She smiled and said, “Lady Boss, you have a good personality. If it were me, I would definitely be bored to death if I had nothing to do.”
