Elaine and Horacio each carried a bottle of mineral water and hid behind a green tree by the roadside. They were prepared to pretend to meet after they were done.

Horacio chuckled. “Go if you dare. “The two of them waited for a while more before a woman in a black hip–hugging skirt got out of the car. She seemed to be cursing as she walked. It looked like the two of them had had an argument.
After the woman left, Loyd drove away. Elaine and Horacio walked out from the shadows. Not far away was the taxi they had taken to follow Loyd.
Horacio waved his hand and the driver drove the car over. The two of them got into the car. Elaine said to the driver, “Follow the car in front.”
The driver looked at the two of them through the rearview mirror with a strange expression and followed closely behind.
Loyd’s car stopped outside a large supermarket. The person who got out of the car was not Loyd, but an unfamiliar man.
As soon as the taxi stopped, Elaine pushed the door open and got out of the car. She rushed up and looked into the car through the window. There was no one inside.Horacio paid the fare and approached her. When he saw the man in the checkered shirt enter the supermarket, he hurriedly asked, “Why didn’t you follow him in? Or stop him?”
“He’s not Loyd.” Although she had only seen Loyd once, she could not mistake him. The man in the plaid shirt was not Loyd.

Elaine gritted her teeth in anger. After feeding the mosquito for more than an hour, she glared at Horacio resentfully. “It’s also possible that Loyd lent his car to someone else.”
The man in the checkered shirt was obviously from the same group as Loyd. It was very likely that he was his scoundrel friend.

“Horacio!” Elaine glared at him angrily. He raised his leg and kicked again. Horacio was already prepared. He quickly jumped to the side and dodged the bullet.
The next day, Elaine found out that Loyd would go to Golden Bay Entertainment Club every night. After work that day, she and Horacio arrived at the club early. They ordered some drinks and booked a private room.
Horacio sat on the sofa and bit his nails. He wondered if the magazine would reimburse him for tonight’s bill.

Someone knocked on the door of the private room. Elaine called out softly, “Come in.” A waiter brought in the drinks they had ordered. She pretended to ask the waiter casually, “I heard that Loyd often comes to the club?”
The waiter was placing drinks on the table. When he heard her question, he smiled and said, “Mr. Gomez is a regular customer of our club.”
