Maya’s POV
1 felt a warm sensation as Derrick’s hand wrapped around my waist and the other holding my hands, which were covering my eyes. “Are you sure you aren’t peeking! He said playfully.
I chuckled and pushed my body against his. “I’m not preking. Derrick.”
He led me out of the car, and we walked a few steps. I could feel his hand grip tightening around my waist. It had been almost three months since we started dating, and even though some of the people closest to us knew, it still felt like a secret
He seemed eager to take the next step, but it wasn’t the same for me, I was slightly worried about the whole situation and the fear of being rejected again. But despite all of this, I had come to love him more than I thought I would
“Are you realy, darling!” He asked, his voice echoing with excitement.
I nodded, pinching his skin so he would let go. “Get in with it already.” I replied, chuckling even louder.

1 frowned, and removed his hand from my waist. The expression in his face changed to admit I paced through the small space where we were for a few seconds

“Why?” He asked softly.
“Because it’s just.. too much.” I replied, trying not to sound ungrateful and rude. I couldn’t tell why I was upsen, but I didn’t know how else in react with all the fear and uncertainty I had inside of me
He took a deep breath and let out a small smile. He walked towards me, his eyes softening “You don’t have en start living in it instantly. What I mean is that you can use it when you feel the need to.”

He held me tightly and smiled. “Maya, I get that, but I don’t really care what people think I’ve done more for people who didn’t deserve it, and i can tell you firmly that you deserve even more.”
I looked up at him and rested my head on his chest. “You’re a very good spokesman said playfully, masking the discomfort that I was still feeling.
I was thankful for his gift but beyond that, what happened between me and Hunter, was still lodged in the comer of my mind
He brought my face closer to his with his hand and then leaned in and kissed me firmly in the lips.
“Thank you” I whispered as he pulled away,
“Do you want to see the rest of it?” He asked, changing the mood in what it was before I almost messed it up
“okay” I said, nodding without hesitation. As much as 1 felt uncomfortable, I couldn’t afford to change his mood

Bella barely noticed me coming in and she was grinning excitedly at her phone. I stayed still for a while, watching as she continued to smile.

“Do you want me to ask why you’re smiling so hard?” I asked, finally lening her know that I was indeed home
She rushed towards me as though she had been waiting for me to say something and grabbed my arm. “You won’t believe what happened today at my workplace!”

I nodded slowly, not totally getting where she was headed.
*For the first time ever, he asked for a meeting and requested that 1 amend as well” she said, practically bouncing with excitement.
“Okay….” I said, trying to keep up with her. I couldn’t tell who she was talking about, there were several people who she had a crush on, but she always talked about her boss and even though I didn’t quite know who he was or what he looked like. I had to low with all of it

“I couldn’t stop staring at him. It feels like it’s finally happening between us, don’t you think?” She asked. Before I could answer, she pulled out her phone and showed me a picture of him.
“Isn’t he cute?” she asked, blushing.
