I walked through the corridor, the light from it directing me. Emelia was string on the couch, her legs folded and her eyes glued to the screen. She looked up briefly as I walked in and turned her attention back to the television
“Welcome, Dad,” she muttered without looking at my direction for the second time.
I smiled at her slightly pleased that she was still awake. I needed something to warm spelf up and I walked to the counter. I stretched and brought
a bottle of whiskey and poured myself a glass carried it over to the couch and sat down in one of them.
“You didnt pour me ag

“She looked really beautiful” I said unconsciously

I brought the screen to my face and looked at it. It was Lily.
“What the fuck does she want I mustered under my breath. I wondered whether I should answer the call, but eventually I did.

She sighed. “We haven’t talked since the divorce and you answer me like this.” I was already frustrated at the fact that I was even talking with her.

“Goodnight” I said curtly and ended the call.
I looked down at the glass in my hand and 1 brought it to my mouth and gulped everything in it. Her mice had definitely stirred up emotions I didn’t want to revisit, especially not tonight.
1 set the glass down and was about to pour myself another glass and then I heard footsteps, turning around and there was Emelia, standing by the
stairway.
“Was that mom!” She asked softly.
I sighed and nodded. “Yea it was
