Linda lit up right away “Gary, you’re finally set to launch your own company? That’s amazing–congrats!”
A small, proud smile tugged at the corners of Gary’s mouth.
“It was bound to happen sooner or later.”
Just as Linda was about to throw shade at Alice again, someone in the crowd called out, “Hey, looks like someone’s confronting Alice

The voice belonged to Marvin Griffin, one of the biggest names in Mapleford these days.
The Griffins had exploded in growth lately, getting into just about every business you could imagine.
As their only heir Marvin had become one of the most powerful figure in Mapleford over the last couple of years.
He was known for being a rich playboy who lived for racing.
He’d had his eyes on this car for a while now, and Douglas was someone he had personally brought in to help him get it.
Everything had been going exactly as planned–until Alice showed up out of nowhere.
At first, he kept it cool, acting like he didn’t care. But the second he laid eyes on Alice, everything changed.
She had this calm, almost icy presence, like a flower blooming in the snow–completely captivating.
And her face? Absolutely stunning.
His heart started pounding
He couldn’t stop staring
Alice let out a cold laugh. “Give it to you? And why should I?”
Marvin snapped out of his daze, taking in a deep breath like the air around her was intoxicating.
His thoughts were clearly somewhere else.
“Hand at over, and I’ll give you whatever you want.”
He was no rookie when it came to chasing women–even the married ones.
Daniel’s expression darkened. “Mr. Marvin, I’d suggest you take that back.”
He cracked his knuckles, loud and clear.
Marvin’s bodyguards stepped forward in a flash, ready to protect their boss in case things turned ugly.
Alice lifted her hand to stop Daniel from jumping in.
Then she slowly turned to Marvin, her eyes icy and calm.
“And what if I say no
Marvin just grinned, still putting on that smug act.
“No big deal. Ill just take the car and you, too.”

At the company.
Kuby was waiting anxiously for a call.
She’d been behind most of what happened today, carefully pulling the strings from behind the scenes
Shed stayed away from the event on purpose to keep her name out of trouble.
The call finally came in–it said Alice had won the championship. Apart from a few tire injures everyone involved was
okay
But the people Ruby had sent were badly hurt,
Not only had she lost the car she used to lure Eric into acting recklessly, but now she had to cover a bunch of hospital bills
The whole thing had backfired, and it made her furious.
She nearly smashed her phone in frustration
She had pushed for the Spencers marriage, but all it had done was blow up in her face
Just then. Sandy walked in with a cup of coffee.
“Mom, how is it going?”
Ruby opened her mouth to answer, but her phone rang again.
She frowned–what note! Is something else going wrong?
With a sigh, she picked up
“The Grittins?” she repeated. her temper cooling instantly.
A smile slowly crept across her face.
“Perfect. I’ll be right there.”
Sandy noticed the sudden change in her mother’s expression and figured something good must’ve happened.
“Did John win?” she asked.
Ruby shook her headi
“No, but there’s still a shot. Come on, we’re heading over
Sandy was confused: “Didn’t you say we shouldn’t show up right now? You said it’d look suspicious.”
“That was when I was the one running the race, Ruby replied with a small smile,
“But now, racing’s not even the point anymore.”
Sandy was totally lost.
She had no idea what her mother was talking about, but her gut told her something dramatic was about to go down–so she quickly followed
Back at the track, the Griffins and Nolans were on edge, glaring at each other, ready to throw down at any second
Marvin, though, looked completely relaxed, still wearing that casual grin.
Alice and Eric, on the other hand, stayed calm and unreadable.

“I’ll pay.” Marvin said without hesitation.
What he wanted wasn’t just any car–this one had taken the win in an international race.
Winning cars had a special mark on the engine.
He was obsessed with collecting stuff like that.
“How much are you offering?” Alice asked flatly.
“Name your price,” Marvin replied confidently.
Even if she asked for a hundred million, he wouldn’t even flinch.
Alice kept her voice steady, but what she said hit like a bomb,
The whole Griffin Group.
Marvin’s expression twisted. “You turned down a nice offer, and now you want to push your luck?”
Alice raised an eyebrow.
“You said I could name my price. Now that I have, you’re chickening out?”

He jabbed a finger in her direction Tve only been nice because you’re easy on the eyes. Don’t push me, girl–you don’t want to see where my limits are.”
Alice laughed, like he’d just told the best joke ever.
“Limits Please. You really think you have those?”
Marvin lost it. That’s it! Get her!”
His bodyguards charged forward, and Daniel, backed by a few more men, jumped in. Within seconds, the whole place turned into a fight
