Chapter 132 Irene Is Faking It
Chapter 132 Irene Is Faking It
Of course, Sam was thrilled–but he was also confused.
In the end, he called out to him.
“Mr. Eric, are you really not going to see your wife?”
Eric paused. “If you see her, let her know–11l pick her up tonight.”
Sam was speechless again.
Is Mr. Eric really this cold?
The man was already here. And he still didn’t go see his wife?
The rumors claimed Eric doted on his wife, but reality told a different story.
Sam suddenly remembered how, back in their youth. Eric had been closest to Yvette.
Now that was a childhood sweetheart.

This wife, on the other hand? A country girl. Someone who’d never seen the world. She probably didn’t even have much to
talk about with him.
Honestly, the fact that Eric was even willing to give Alice some dignity was already more than expected. Did he have feelings for her? It was highly unlikely that was the case.
“Got il
Sam took a deep breath, realizing maybe he was sticking his nose where it didn’t belong.
After Eric left, one of his colleagues nudged him and grinned.
“I guess we’re all pulling overtime tonight.”
Sam looked down at the pile of evidence in his hands, fire rekindling in his eyes.
Strangely enough, he thought, maybe it was a good thing Irene was still unconscious
if she woke up and found out what Eric had just dropped on them, she might die from pure rage.
Outside the police station.
Eric climbed into the car and rubbed his forehead.
Daniel sighed quietly. “Mr. Eric, maybe you should cancel the meeting with the board and go see your wife first?”
Eric dropped his hand and leaned back in the seat. “Head to the office.”
Daniel could only nod, a trace of sympathy flashing in his eyes.
Eric looked perfectly fine on the surface, but he knew the truth–the poison was still in his system.
Alice had said he needed at least eight months.
If things didn’t go well, maybe a full year.
Everyone thought that once Eric woke up, he’d immediately take back control of the company.

But in reality, he was playing the long game.
It wasn’t that he lacked the ability.
His body just couldn’t handle it yet.
But because Alice was around, he could fight on both fronts–one hand reclaiming power, the other recovering
Daniel believed-
Even if Eric didn’t love her yet–there was already something solid between them.
A kind of trust. A battle–forged bond,
The reason Eric didn’t go see her wasn’t a lack of affection–he was just too damn busy.
“Mr. Eric, at least take the medicine she left you.”
Daniel sighed as he started the engine and drove toward the office.
Eric pulled a small bottle from his pocket.
There were no labels, no markings–just tiny, rice–sized pills.
He had no idea what was in them, but every time he took one, he felt better.
He turned the boule in his fingers, and a bold thought crept into his mind.
What iflice developed this herself?
There were many doctors in the world, but very few who could both heal and create medicine from scratch.

Before his coma, he’d heard rumors about a mysterious doctor overseas–codename Kite–someone who could bring people back from the brink of death.
Kite was known as the Grim Reaper’s Enemy.
Eric had once suspected Alice might be Kite. If…
He stared down at the small bottle, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
At the hospital
Scott had just arrived and was heading toward Irene’s room.
But the Nolan family guards were standing outside–and they weren’t letting him in
Still, because of who he was, one of them went in to notify her.
In truth, Irene had never been unconscious.
Just like the last time at the old mansion–she was faking it.
Beside her. Cheryl served tea cautiously.
“Mom, that country girl’s just too much to handle. Maybe it’s time we admit defeat”
Irene slapped the teacup away before Cheryl could finish speaking.
Cheryl instantly clammed up, terrified.

Matt spoke next. “Mom, your official seal was stolen. What else can we even do at this point?”
Then Josh chimed in. “And don’t forget, I was thrown into detention. Eric didn’t lift a finger to help”
That comment only made Irene angrier.
Josh had been arrested for embezzling funds from the fashion division.
She’d begged Eric to get him out, but he hadn’t budged
Even when she tried to convince Oscar to pressure Ruby–still nothing.
That whole branch of the family had completely broken her heart.
Just then, a bodyguard returned to report about Scott waiting outside,
“Hmph. I used to think sending Alice to jail wouldn’t affect Eric Nolan much,” she muttered.
She was so furious that she didn’t even address him casually anymore–just spat out “Eric Nolan‘ like venom. The warmth and affection were long gone.
“But now… it seems like the Spencers don’t all hate her.”
Cheryl’s eyes flickered with an idea.
“Mom, didn’t the third Spencer brother used to race with her? Maybe that’s why he’s here. Maybe he’s just helping our an old racing buddy.”
Josh, who was always out partying, perked up–finally something he understood.
