Chapter 120 Dilemma
Chapter 120 Dilemma.
Even the usually composed Ruby wore a pleasant smile on her face.
“I’m sorry about earlier. Those employees will be fined. You don’t have to worry.”
Kaleb shook his head. “They were just too excited to see Levi. Please, don’t be too hard on them.”
Ruby softened her tone. “Well, since you’re asking on their behalf, I’ll let it go.”
Kaleb’s smile faltered ever so slightly.
That was Ruby handing him a favor.
And favors always came with strings attached.
“Let’s go. We’ll talk in my office, Ruby said with a friendly smile.
Kaleb didn’t move.
Levi had already spotted Daniel standing a short distance away.
Daniel didn’t approach, clearly waiting to see how things would play out.
But Ruby hadn’t come alone.
Behind her were several shareholders of the Nolan Group,
Levi felt a twinge of frustration.
Alice had completely cut off his escape route.
From now on, his only option was to work with Eric and Alice.
He took a deep breath and looked back at Ruby.
“Ms. Randall, I think there’s been a misunderstanding. We’re not here to see you today.”
The smile on Ruby’s face disappeared instantly.
The shareholders behind her began murmuring.
“What’s going on? Didn’t Ruby invite him?”
“And she had us all come out here just to welcome a little celebrity? Unbelievable.”
“Looks like we’ve wasted our time.”
“Ms. Randall, I’m sorry. I should’ve come to see you first, Levi said apologetically.

“But I have business to discuss with Mr. Eric. Once we’re done, I’ll make sure to stop by your office and offer my apologies. Please don’t take it personally.”
Ruby clenched her fists.
Kaleb had already made it clear downstairs that they were here to see Eric, which was why she had rushed over to intercept them.
She had been certain Levi wouldn’t dare offend her, so she’d even brought the shareholders along to make a statement.
But now…

“Ms. Randall, are you upset?” Levi asked, his face all smiles, voice warm and gentle.
“Of course not,” Ruby replied.
She now realized Levi was here to meet with the person who would ultimately take control of the fashion department. That made her even more anxious.
But clearly, this wasn’t the time to make any more impulsive moves. She needed to calm down and come up with another plan.
“All right then, since you young people have things to discuss, I won’t get in your way.”
With that, she said a few words to the shareholders behind her and turned to leave.
Once she was gone, Daniel finally walked over.
“Mr. Quinn, I have to say–you didn’t let Mrs. Nolan down.”
Levi gave his words some thought.
“You seem to follow Ms. Spencer’s lead quite a bit.
Daniel corrected him, “Excuse me–it’s Mrs. Nolan, not Ms. Spencer.
Levi chuckled.
“Mr. Palmer, I’ve just come to a realization.”
“And what’s that?
“Mrs. Nolan outranks Mr. Eric:
Daniel said nothing, but in his mind, he wondered if it was really that obvious.
They reached the door to the meeting room that had been prepared.
Daniel was about to accompany Levi inside to wait for Alice and Eric.
But just then, he received a message–Irene had arrived.
Not only that, she already knew Levi would be in this meeting room and was headed there directly.
“Mr. Quinn, there’s been a change of plans. We’d better use another room, Daniel said.
Everyone thought the Nolan Group had something to gain from Levi.
No one knew that this time, it was Levi coming to ask Alice for help.
So Levi kept a humble attitude.
“Sure, no problem:
But Kaleb grabbed Levi’s arm.
“Levi, someone’s coming
Just as he finished speaking, they heard a commotion around the corner.
Mrs Irene, this way
Levi looked up–and sure enough, there was Irene, walking quickly with a furious expression.

Since she had come in person, Levi couldn’t afford to be disrespectful. He quickly walked over to greet her.
“Mrs. Irene, good to see you.”

Irene glanced at Daniel standing behind him, narrowed her eyes, and for a second, all the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes seemed to tighten.
Then she smiled, looking warm and approachable.
“Levi, I remember you used to visit my home when you were little. And now look at you, all grown up.”
Levi looked genuinely remorseful.
“You were always kind to me. I should’ve visited more often. That’s on me.”
The truth was, Levi came from a small family, and back then, he’d just been a low–tier celebrity that the Nolans didn’t take seriously. He never had the standing to just show up at their door.
Irene was momentarily stunned by his words
But then her smile grew even warmer.
“Levi, you’ve always been a good kid.
“Oh, by the way,” she continued, “Yvette told me last night that you’d be coming today to discuss the fashion department. I hope I’m not too late?”
Now Levi was caught in a dilemma.
Irene had deliberately lowered herself with her words.
If he rejected her now, it would be the same as completely offending her.
He could easily choose Eric over Ruby.
That was because Ruby didn’t have much influence in the entertainment world
