Carissa relaxed only after she drank a cup of hot water.
If Melvin didn’t show up today and Warren kept pestering her relentlessly, she really didn’t know what to do.
But didn’t Melvin leave? How did he suddenly come back?
It seemed like he noticed her confusion, so Melvin took out his phone from his pocket,
“I don’t know which absent–minded person left their phone in my car,”
Looking at the familiar phone case, Carissa blushed and quickly reached out to take it.
“Thank you, Melvin,”

Melvin smiled and said, “You don’t have to be polite, just call me Melvin from now on. Do you have time tomorrow? Can I treat you to a meal?”

“Melvin, the man just now was my ex–boyfriend, Although I had already broken up with him, you also saw his attitude, so I probably won’t start a new relationship for now…”

“Did you stay downstairs all night yesterday?”
Melvin nodded naturally.
“Well, I was afraid that your ex–boyfriend would come back to harass you, so I waited here for a while. In the end, I couldn’t be bothered to go back, so I just spent the night in the car. It works out perfectly because I can still drive you to work this morning.”
Carissa pursed her lips and asked, “Why didn’t you go upstairs to sleep?”
Melvin hesitated for a moment, a hint of embarrassment crossing his eyes, as he avoided her gaze.
“You were the only one at home…”
He mumbled just one sentence, but Carissa understood what he meant.
Because Emma was on a business trip and didn’t come home yesterday, out of respect for Carissa, he ultimately chose to sleep in the car.
She couldn’t express what she was feeling deep inside her heart at the moment.
I felt a gentle warmth slowly surging into my long–silent heart.
Melvin glanced at his watch and voluntarily opened the passenger door for her.
