Chapter 116 Share the Fact
Aelira’s POV

“Are you done with your speech?” I ask Esther Riven frostily, interrupting her ongoing lecture on family
duties and pack allegiance.
My patience has worn thin.
Esther straightens in her seat. “I suppose,” she responds cautiously.
I offer a slight nod, a cold smile creeping onto my lips. “Now it’s my turn to speak.”
My tone has a steely sharpness. The submissive Luna who once yielded to this woman has vanished.
“First, I will seek revenge for my mother on my own. I don’t need the Riven family’s help.”
Esther opens her mouth to object, but I continue without interruption.
“Second, the child I’m carrying is not Alarion’s. Our mate bond has been severed–legally, emotionally, and in every significant way.”
Esther’s face clouds with skepticism. “Aelira, you’re just speaking out of your pain. This is nothing but
anger talking.”
Her condescending tone causes my wolf to stir uncomfortably beneath my
skin.
“Facts?” I echo, my voice rising. “Let me present you with some facts, Esther.”
I rise and begin to pace toward the window. “If you are so convinced this child is Alarion’s, then you must have some insight into his fertility that I’m oblivious to.
Turning to face her directly, I continue, “Because from what I understand, Alarion has been dealing with fertility problems for quite some time.”
Esther’s expression stays meticulously neutral, yet I can see the slight tension forming around her
eyes.
“Why are you so entirely certain that this child belongs to your son?” I press.
To my utter astonishment, Esther’s mask finally slips.
“Well, Aelira,” she says with a weary sigh, “You need to stop being angry with me. I’m aware that your
took various fertility–enhancing herbs to prepare for conception.”
My heart momentarily halts. Her words hit me like a physical blow.

“I had someone look into your herbal purchases,” Esther continues, her tone matter–of–fact. “Those were moonstone–infused remedies, which can significantly improve the chances of becoming
pregnant.”
The room begins to sway around me. I grasp the back of my chair for support.
This shocking revelation unsettles me far beyond anything I could have ever anticipated.
I have kept my reliance on these powerful, physically taxing herbal treatment’s completely hidden. Even
my mother, Emily, and my closest friend Oriana have never been aware of the exhausting regimen I
have subjected myself to.
The herbs meant to enhance fertility were costly, challenging to acquire, and extremely demanding on my body. I have experienced nausea, exhaustion, and hormonal changes for months on end.
All the while, I am desperately trying to conceive for Alarion’s benefit.
And Esther has always been aware of it.
A wave of despair washes over me as the implications settle in. She has observed my struggles in
silence, never once offering support or recognition.
This sharply contrasts with her past assertion of treating me “like a biological daughter.”
“Moreover,” Esther states with calculated coldness, “you weren’t separated from Alarion at that time,
so if it isn’t his pup, whose could it be?”
Her words send shivers down my spine. The nonchalant way she discloses her scrutiny of my private
medical decisions feels like an invasion.
This strengthens my determination against my former mother–in–law entirely.
“I will say this one last time,” I declare with a serious expression. “The pup I carry is not Alarion’s.”
Having seen Esther’s true manipulative nature, I feel no obligation to hold back any longer.
Esther’s demeanor darkens sharply. Her carefully crafted facade completely crumbles.
“Then whose pup is it?” she demands, her voice lowering to a menacing whisper. “Have you betrayed
Alarion’s mate bond?”
I stay completely silent, revealing no emotion despite my ignorance regarding the father’s identity.
After a prolonged, tense silence, Esther rises with renewed conviction.
“I am beyond caring whose pup this is,” she asserts with chilling authority. “It can only belong to our Riven pack.”

“What do you mean by that?” I inquire.

Esther looks down at me from her upright position. “Starting today, I will make arrangements for a
pack healer and caretaker to oversee you and the pup until the baby arrives safely.”
“No,” I respond immediately.
“This is not a matter up for your vote,” Esther brushes off my objections. “This is our Riven pack’s pup.”
“This is my pup,” I retort firmly.
Without saying another word, she pivots and strides toward my apartment door. “This discussion is
concluded, Aelira. The arrangements will commence tomorrow.”
She exits my apartment without a backward glance.
Fuming at her arrogance, I snatch the cup Esther had used and hurl it to the floor with all my might.
The ceramic shatters against the hardwood with a gratifying crash.
My chest rises and falls violently, and my heart races uncontrollably. My wolf whimpers anxiously
within me, overwhelmed by the stress of the confrontation.
Suddenly, the doorbell jolts me, and my mobile phone begins to ring.
The caller ID displays Daelor’s name.
“Hello,” I answer, breathless.
“Open the door,” his deep voice instructs gently.
As I open the door, Daelor immediately notices the shards of glass scattered on the floor.
“What happened here?” he asks, concern evident in his tone.
Feeling embarrassed, I start to clean it up. “I just dropped something.”
But Daelor gently grabs my arm, taking the broom from my hands.
“Sit down,” he commands softly yet firmly. “I will take care of this.”
He meticulously collects every shard, ensuring there are no sharp pieces that could harm me or my
unborn pup later on.
After securing all the shards of glass in a disposal bag, Daelor shifts his focus to me.
“Who came to see you tonight?” he inquires, assessing my distressed condition with concern.

“Esther Riven stopped by,” I clarify. “She intends to send a pack healer and caregiver to keep an eye on me. She insists the pup is part of the Riven pack, regardless of the actual parentage.”
This reminds me of our earlier bet regarding Alarion’s persistence. I suspect Daelor might have
predicted this outcome.
“I am confident that a prenatal paternity test will alter Esther’s stance,” I state with resolution.
To my astonishment, Daelor chuckles softly. “Do you really think the Riven pack will accept the test results? They’ll merely suspect that you are faking or manipulating the findings.”
While his reasoning is sound, I remain obstinate.
“Whether they accept it or not is their choice,” I assert. “I will proceed with the prenatal paternity test
tomorrow, no matter what.”
Daelor seems a bit helpless in the face of my resolve, yet he smiles. “Very well, do as you wish.”
Then his demeanor becomes grave, his strong Alpha scent enveloping me in a protective embrace. “If
you face any difficulties during this process, call me at any hour.”
I nod appreciatively. “I will.”
The following morning, I head out early for my prenatal paternity test appointment.
The procedure requires fasting beforehand, and my growling stomach amplifies my anxiety.
After finishing the test and having breakfast, I aimlessly stroll around a nearby shopping mall to pass the time while I await the expedited report.
I find myself drawn to a mother and pup store, captivated by the assortment of baby items–tiny werewolf onesies adorned with delicate moon designs, soft blankets infused with soothing lavender scents, and wooden toys engraved with protective runes.
For the first time, I allow myself to fully envision my future with this pup.
By the time my report is ready, I am burdened with several shopping bags.
I drive back to Myrthale Residences with a mix of excitement and apprehension.
As the elevator reaches my floor, I notice a group of people gathered by my apartment door.
Esther stands at the front of the crowd, looking resolute.
“Aelira, you’re back,” Esther greets me. “I was taken aback to find you had left without any notice this morning.”

Her gaze quickly locks onto the shopping bags in my hands.

“Did you purchase things for the pup?” She beams. “Oh, you sweet child, isn’t it a bit premature? The pup isn’t even three months old yet. How could you already be…”
Before Esther can finish her thought, I reach into my purse and extract the official report.
“I had a prenatal paternity test conducted,” I announce clearly. “Here’s the report. Take a look.”
Esther eagerly accepts the document from me, her eyes shimmering with anticipation.
But as she scans the contents and her gaze lands on the conclusion-‘ Not Biological Parent‘–the confident smile on her face disappears completely.
The report shakes noticeably in her hands as disbelief spreads across her features.
