Chapter 113 Find out the Truth
Aelira’s POV
“Ms. Sunmere, you just canceled…” the hospital receptionist starts to say.

My heart races in my chest. Alarion stands right there, and I can’t allow him to find out about my
pregnancy.
“I’m sorry, but please don’t check, thank you,” I interrupt him anxiously.
The receptionist glances at me, clearly puzzled. Alarion’s gaze is fixed on me, as though he’s trying to
see into my very essence.
I can sense his suspicion radiating from him.
“Thank you for your assistance,” I quickly tell the bewildered receptionist, striving to keep my expression neutral despite my pounding heart.
I turn and start walking away without saying anything further.
Before I can take more than a couple of steps, Alarion reaches me. His hand darts out and seizes my
arm.
“What were you looking into?” he questions forcefully. “Are you checking up on Cyrinne?”
I shake his hand off immediately, scoffing at his implication.
“Why? Am I not allowed to check on her?” I reply defiantly.
Alarion’s lips form a tight line.
“You’re still insisting that you’re not here to watch the spectacle?”
A cold smile crosses my face.
“Yes, I’m here to see the spectacle,” I respond with intentional malice. “For a show like this, I wish I could watch every day!”
Alarion furrows his brow but does not pursue that line of conversation any further.
“You mentioned earlier that Cyrinne was responsible for your mother’s death,” he says softly. “What did
you mean?”
I have no intention of clarifying anything to him. I attempt to sidestep him, but Alarion quickly blocks
my way again.

“Are you blaming me, too?” he presses. “Is that why you cut our mate bond?”
I frown, bewildered by his reasoning.
“Move out of the way,” I say coldly. “A good Alpha doesn’t obstruct the path.”
Yet, Alarion stands firm in front of me.

“Since the moment I agreed to sever our mate bond, I’ve been pondering what led to this,” he states
urgently.
“What made me push you further away, despite my efforts?”
His eyes reveal a flicker of regret.
“Now I even lament how easily I gave up on you back then…”
I don’t want to hear his elaborate monologue.
“Alarion, we’ve already severed our mate bond,” I declare bluntly.
“Even with our bond broken, we can still have a new marking ceremony,” Alarion insists passionately.
His remarks are so ridiculous that I let out a bitter laugh.
“Back then, you agreed to sever our bond because of Cyrinne,” I say, my voice escalating with
indignation.
“And now, again, because of her, you wish to mark me once more. Alarion, do you see me merely as a
toy you can summon and dismiss at will?”
Perhaps it’s because I was too easily acquired that he never learned to value what we had.
“No,” Alarion replies frantically, reaching for my hand. “Aelira, it’s not that way…”
I instinctively attempt to shake off his grip, but Alarion holds on tightly.
“Let me go!” I demand.
“I can’t release you,” Alarion says in desperation, his eyes wide with emotion.
“Aelira, will you give me one last chance? I genuinely can’t imagine life without you!”
His grip tightens even further.
As I prepare to voice my frustration, a tall and imposing figure unexpectedly steps in from behind me.
With determined strength, Daelor pushes Alarion away, then gently takes hold of my arm, offering me

It’s Daelor.

Alarion’s gaze turns dangerously dark, first locking onto Daelor’s hand gripping mine, then rising to
meet Daelor’s eyes.
His eyes gleam with an icy intensity, as if he is ready to leap forward and tear Daelor apart.
Around us, people continue to stream through the hospital corridor, but the two Alpha figures stand
facing each other like unyielding mountains.
Their eyes collide, filled with open hostility, reminiscent of drawn weapons.
Alarion’s expression is icy, with the violent emotions roiling within him causing his fists to clench until his knuckles appear white.
“Are you okay?” Daelor inquires, entirely ignoring Alarion’s threatening demeanor.
With genuine concern, he directs his attention toward me, his eyes warm and reassuring.
“He didn’t harm you, did he?”
I rapidly shake my head, still trying to catch my breath.
I notice that bystanders are starting to stare our way, some even lifting their mobile phones, clearly intending to capture whatever drama unfolds.
“Let’s move,” I say urgently, pulling on Daelor’s hand.
Alarion is at the center of a significant public fiasco, and I have no desire for Daelor to become entangled in this chaos.
Daelor promptly agrees, taking my hand firmly as he strides toward the elevator.
I don’t glance back, but I can feel the storm of Alarion’s anger brewing behind us.
The elevator doors shut, finally putting distance between us and the confrontation.
Without hesitation, I withdraw my hand from Daelor’s, heat flooding my cheeks.
“Thank you for getting here in time,” I say. “If you hadn’t… well, what just happened…”
Given the power imbalance between an Alpha and a she–wolf, I wouldn’t have been able to escape
Alarion’s iron grip.
“One day, when I have the opportunity, I’ll show you some self–defense techniques,” Daelor states

earnestly.
“Self–defense techniques?” I can’t help but chuckle. “Isn’t that a bit much?”
Daelor’s smile doesn’t quite reach his eyes.
“Not at all. It’s completely necessary.”
Seeing him take this so seriously, I find myself needing to compromise.
“Alright.”

“Furthermore,” Daelor adds, “Dr. Nyven Leyric just informed me that Cyrinne has been rescued and is
temporarily out of danger…”
His eyebrow lifts slightly.
“But the pup is gone.”
I narrow my eyes, unable to help it.
“Was that intentional?” I ask.
Daelor nods grimly. “Most likely.”
I purse my lips, the rising anger in my heart fueling my thoughts. Now that I’m pregnant myself, I feel especially protective of unborn life.
Honestly, if that pup had somehow endured Cyrinne’s relentless manipulation, it would have been nothing short of miraculous.
“Cyrinne aims to create a scenario where no evidence remains,” I state, grasping her strategy.
In her twisted reasoning, with the pup gone, any potentially incriminating evidence that could threaten
her now ceases to exist.
If she employs her silver tongue to defend her actions and portray herself as a victim, she might even
manage to sway Alarion’s opinion.
The elevator doors open, jolting me back to the present.
Daelor and I step out, but we barely take a few steps when a familiar voice calls out.
“Aelira Sunmere?”
I turn toward the voice and spot Roderic and Esther Riven standing nearby. Roderic holds a food container.

“It’s your fault that Cyrinne’s pup is gone, you jinx! You won’t rest until you’ve completely torn our pack apart, will you?”
His accusation strikes me as so absurd that I can’t help but laugh.
“How touching that you call her ‘Cyrinne‘ with such protectiveness,” I reply. “Such sentiment.”
I let sarcasm drench my tone.
“The pup is missing, and Alarion hasn’t even reacted dramatically. Yet here you are, supposedly her
father–in–law, absolutely furious.”
I pause, allowing the implication to linger in the atmosphere.
“What’s the matter? Could it be that the pup actually belongs to you?”
“You-” Roderic’s face goes crimson with fury.”
He raises his hand as if to hit me, his Alpha instincts overpowering his rational thoughts.
However, I foresee his violent impulse and quickly step back several paces.

In that instant, Daelor moves with remarkable speed, stepping forward to grab Roderic’s outstretched wrist before violently tossing the older Alpha aside.
His eyes are filled with fury.
Roderic stumbles backward, completely losing his footing from the impact of Daelor’s throw.
With a heavy thud, he crashes to the ground in a disheveled pile.
