Chapter 84
Just thinking about how Nyasia appeared so warm and
enthusiastic toward her on the surface, while who knew what
she was really thinking inside, made her feel irritated. So she
didn’t bother saving face for her and directly had the
bodyguards escort her out.

“So that’s what it was. Now I remember, you mentioned this to
me before,” Kaneeta said, suddenly enlightened.
But when Grandma told her about it, she hadn’t mentioned the
girl’s name.
Of course, she couldn’t have immediately thought of Nyasia.
Looking at it now, perhaps Nyasia had somehow recognized
that Grandma was Madam Drayton of the Drayton family in
Roseburn, and that’s why she deliberately tried to get close.
Although she was eventually driven away, she still shamelessly
boasted in front of Edmund, claiming that she was very much
favored by Madam Drayton.
“Ridiculous.”
“Neeta, why did you suddenly bring up Nyasia?” Regina asked.

“Wait, her last name is Kuntz…”
Wasn’t that boy who tricked their Neeta
Calchester also surnamed Kuntz?

“It’s nothing, Grandma,” Kaneeta smiled. “I was just asking.
Anyway, it’s getting late, you should go to bed early. Did you
forget the doctor said you need to keep early hours?”
“Hmph, I’m still in great health…” Madam Drayton muttered as
she returned to her bedroom.
Kaneeta watched her grandmother’s retreating figure, a hint of
a smile flickering in her eyes.
Back in her bedroom, Kaneeta saw that she had a new friend
request on WhatsApp.
The note read “Miguel.”
With a light tap of her finger, Kaneeta accepted the friend
request.
After accepting, she had intended to say something, but when
her fingers hovered over the screen, she couldn’t think of what
to say.
Miguel didn’t send any message either.

Kaneeta felt her head spinning, so she simply put her phone aside and threw herself onto the soft, large bed

The Hartwell’s manor.
Woodrow hurried home, only to find his mother, Elara Voss, sitting on the sofa, her eyes red and swollen.
“Mom.”
“Woodrow, you’re back,” Elara choked out. “Seraphina,
Seraphina, she…”
“Mom, please don’t panic,” Woodrow said, sitting down beside
her. “Is the news reliable?”
“I don’t know, but…” Elara pulled out a tissue to wipe her tears.
“Right now, we really can’t get in touch with Seraphina.”
The “Seraphina” Elara spoke of was the Dr. Locke they had
mentioned earlier.
Seraphina Locke was Elara’s longtime friend. Over the years, she often traveled to impoverished and war–torn regions
around the world to provide free medical care.
Chapter 84
Just tonight, Elara received news that there had been an
outbreak of violence in the place where Seraphina was
currently staying.
Although there had been times before when they couldn’t reach
her, this time Elara was especially worried.
“I’ve already arranged for people to look for her on my way
back.”
As Woodrow spoke, he held his phone, his fingers tapping
rapidly on the screen. “Don’t worry, Dr. Locke will be fine.”
She must be fine.
“Yes, I’ve tried to persuade her not to go to such dangerous
places anymore… but she just wouldn’t listen,” Elara said,
heartbroken. “But never mind, she said when she was young
that she had her ideals and convictions.”
At that moment, a sturdy young man hurried in.
He was one of Woodrow’s men, named Theodore Finch.
Theodore first greeted Elara, then bent down and whispered
something in Woodrow’s ear.
Woodrow’s face grew tense, then he let out a cold laugh.

“How bold.”

To dare to extort the Hartwell family.
“Woodrow, what’s wrong?” Elara asked anxiously, her voice
trembling. “Did something happen to Seraphina?”
“Mom, don’t worry. Dr. Locke is still safe for now,” Woodrow
said in a low voice. “But I have to go in person.”
“What!” Elara cried out in alarm, immediately grabbing
Woodrow’s wrist. “Woodrow, if anything happens to you…”
“Mom,” Woodrow said, gripping her hand tightly. “I promise
you, I won’t let anything happen to myself.“‘
Elara looked at him with red–rimmed eyes. She knew her son
had always been reliable and never broke his promises.
“I have to go and bring Dr. Locke back. She absolutely cannot
come to harm.”
