Chapter 83
He took out his phone, and after seeing the caller ID, he said to
Kaneeta, “Sorry, I need to take this call.”
Kaneeta nodded.
After Woodrow answered the call, whatever the person on the
other end said made his expression change instantly.
“Is the information reliable?”

“Alright, I understand. I’ll come back right away. Please don’t
worry!”
Seeing the seriousness on his face, Kaneeta’s heart grew heavier
as well.
When Woodrow hung up, she quickly asked, “Mr. Hartwell, has
something happened?”
Woodrow looked at her, trying his best to soften the emotion in
his eyes. “It’s nothing, Ms. Drayton. It’s getting late, you should
go rest. I have to leave now.“”

With that, before Kaneeta could say anything else, he hurriedly
got into his car and left.
Kaneeta had wanted to ask if there was anything she could help
him with.
After all, she owed him so many favors; she would have to
repay them eventually.
She hadn’t expected Woodrow to leave in such a rush.
But that only made it clearer that something serious must have
happened.
Kaneeta couldn’t help but feel a heaviness in her heart.
When she got home, she happened to run into her grandmother
in the living room.
“Grandma, it’s so late. Why aren’t you resting yet?” Kaneeta
asked quickly.
“I couldn’t sleep, so I came out for a walk,” Regina said. “Did you
just go out?”
“Yes, just now… Mr. Hartwell was outside. We talked about
something.”
“Mr. Hartwell? Oh, Woodrow,” Regina said with a cheerful

smile. “Ah, you young people, really, out so late at night…”
“Grandma, we didn’t…”
Regina squeezed Kaneeta’s hand, her smile gentle and kind. “As
long as our Neeta is happy, that’s all that matters.“”
Kaneeta felt a sting in her nose and squeezed her grandmother’s
hand tightly in return. “Grandma, just being able to come home
makes me happy.“”
“Silly child, this will always be your home. No matter where you
go, you can always come back whenever you want.””
Regina lovingly patted her on the head.
“Yes, I know,” Kaneeta replied, smiling through reddened eyes.
The two of them chatted for a while longer, and then Kaneeta
suddenly remembered something and asked, “By the way,
Grandma, do you know Nyasia?”
“Nyasia?” Regina thought for a moment. “That name sounds a
bit familiar, but I can’t quite recall right now…”
Kaneeta understood immediately.
As expected, Nyasia was lying.
Chapter 83
“Nyasia is very close to the Drayton family. When she was
abroad, she became friends with the Draytons, and Madam
Drayton is very fond of her.”
That was what Edmund had once told her.
It was obvious that Nyasia had told him that.
But now, “Madam Drayton” couldn’t even remember Nyasia at
all.
So how could there be any talk of being “very close” or “very
fond“?
She had already suspected as much.
Because whenever she video–chatted with her grandmother,
her grandmother would tell her about everything, big or small.
If there really was a girl she liked so much, how could she not
have mentioned it?
“I remember now,” Regina said, slapping her forehead. “A few
years ago, I was bored and went abroad for a trip. While visiting
a tourist spot, I met a young woman who, for some reason, was
extremely enthusiastic and kept following me around, wanting
to show me the sights. I found it very odd at the time, and
eventually had the bodyguards ask her to leave–she was too
noisy. She introduced herself then, I think her name was

Nyasia.”
At the time, she had really disliked Nyasia.
It wasn’t because of her sudden enthusiasm, nor because she
was noisy, but because Nyasia’s smile was too fake.
Regina had lived so many years–what hadn’t she seen? How
could she not tell?
