Chapter 65
“Why are you here?” Edmund looked at Nyasia, frowning.
“Am I not allowed to come?” Nyasia gave a bitter smile and took
a few steps toward him. “Ed, if I hadn’t seen Felix’s Instagram
post… I wouldn’t have known you actually went to bother
Kaneeta, and then got… by Mr. Hartwell..”
Edmund glared fiercely at Felix.
“Uh, Ed, I just remembered I have something to do, so I’ll be
going now!”
Felix tried to slip away as quickly as possible.
Edmund shouted angrily, “Get back here!”
Realizing that Edmund was truly angry, Felix didn’t dare to run
anymore; otherwise, the consequences might be even worse
than getting beaten up by Edmund.
“Ed, I–I just couldn’t hold it in… Well, how about you just hit me
to let off some steam?”
“I’m not going to hit you,” Edmund said coldly. “I’ll give you a chance to redeem yourself.”

“Huh?” Felix was stunned. “What kind of chance?”
“Think of a way to help me get Neeta to come out.”
Edmund knew that if he tried to ask Kaneeta out now, she
definitely wouldn’t agree to see him.
“Ed!” Nyasia’s voice was sharp. “You still want to ask her out?”
“Don’t talk!” Edmund snapped at her, then turned back to Felix.
“Can you do it?”
“I… I guess I can?” Felix scratched his head. “Anyway, I’ll figure
something out.”
“Good, think fast. The sooner, the better.”
“Got it. Then I’ll be off!”
Seeing that Edmund didn’t object, Felix sneaked a glance at
Nyasia before turning and running off.
Nyasia’s expression was truly something to behold!
Unfortunately, he didn’t have the guts to stick around and
watch the drama unfold.
At that moment, Nyasia had a stomach full of complaints she
wanted to voice, but after thinking it over, she finally asked in a
small, aggrieved voice, “Ed, are you okay? Does it still hurt?”

She squatted down, resting her head against Edmund’s chest.
Her gentle concern made Edmund’s expression soften a little.
“I’m fine.” He raised his hand and stroked her hair. “Don’t worry
about me.”
“How can I not worry? Ed, after everything Kaneeta did to you,
you still want to contact her…”
“Her uncle is an executive at the Drayton Group,” Edmund
interrupted her.
“What?” Nyasia’s face changed. “How is that possible!”
Kaneeta had never mentioned that before!
“Felix saw it with his own eyes,” Edmund said. “He wouldn’t
dare make something like that up.”
Nyasia bit her lower lip hard.
Kaneeta actually has a connection to the Drayton Group!
“That’s why I really need Neeta to put in a good word for me
with her uncle,” Edmund said. “I have to make it up to Neeta as
soon as possible.“”
“You–you don’t… Nyasia grew anxious. “Ed, I can help you too!
Chapter 65
Maybe not right now… but in the future, I’ll definitely find a
way!”
Edmund looked helpless. “I know, but Nya, isn’t it better to have
a backup plan?”
Tears shimmered in Nyasia’s eyes, and she didn’t dare say
anything more.
She knew how much Edmund valued the partnership with the
Drayton Group, and she couldn’t stop him too forcefully.
Otherwise, if Edmund ever found out she was just lying to him…
who knows how angry he’d be!

Kaneeta had just finished her shower and was applying
ointment in front of the mirror.
The cool sensation of mint seeped into her skin, and the red
mark on her wrist had already faded to a faint line.
Thinking back on what had happened tonight, Kaneeta
suddenly realized that Woodrow’s sudden anger–and the way
he had kicked Edmund so hard–was it because Edmund had
hurt her?
