Chapter 55
Kaneeta worked diligently and finally awaited the day when
the project came to a successful conclusion.
The partners were so delighted that they couldn’t stop smiling,
showering her with praise, but Kaneeta only responded with a
polite smile.
All she wanted was to see things through to the end, and to be
worthy of the teammates who had worked so hard alongside
her for so long.
With the project completed, the team members would all
receive generous bonuses..
And she could finally sever all ties with Edmund.
Kaneeta felt an unprecedented sense of relief.
Back at the company, her teammates gathered around her, all
talking at once, insisting on treating her to a meal or buying her
gifts.
“No need,” Kaneeta said with a smile. “It’s been an honor
working with you all these years. Take care of yourselves in the
future.”
Chapter 55
Everyone was stunned.
“Ms. Drayton, do you mean… are you leaving?”
“Are you resigning? Why?”
Kaneeta didn’t answer. She simply walked to her desk and took
out the resignation letter she had prepared long ago.
The moment they saw she had even prepared a resignation
letter, everyone realized she was serious.
Someone whispered, “Well, after all she’s been through, how
could she not resign? If she stayed, who knows what Ms. Kuntz
would do next?”
“Ms. Drayton probably wanted to leave a long time ago, but
stayed just for the sake of this project.”
“She wanted to take responsibility for us…”
A few of the young women had tears in their eyes.
Meanwhile, Kaneeta was already walking into Edmund’s office
with her resignation letter in hand.
At that moment, the lounge in the office was filled with an
ambiguous, intimate atmosphere.
Chapter 55
Nyasia was barely clothed, her fair arms wrapped around
Edmund’s neck.
“Ed…”
Edmund’s eyes were tinged with red, his Adam’s apple bobbing
rapidly.
“You little vixen, don’t you know this is the office, hmm?”
“So what? It’s not like this is our first time in the office…”
As Nyasia spoke, she pressed her lips to his.
Edmund was already distracted, about to unbutton his shirt,
when he suddenly heard footsteps outside.
He gently pushed Nyasia away. “Someone’s coming in. I’ll go
take a look.”
“Hmph, who would dare just walk into your office? Is it
Kaneeta?” Nyasia complained.
Edmund said nothing, simply straightened his clothes, got out of
bed, and left the lounge.
When he saw Kaneeta, a smile appeared on Edmund’s face.
“Neeta, the project is finally over. You worked hard. Tonight, we

can…”
Before he could finish, he saw Kaneeta place an envelope on his
desk, and his face immediately showed confusion.
“What’s this?”
“Mr. Kuntz, this is my resignation letter.“”
Edmund’s expression darkened instantly. “What do you mean?
You’re resigning?”
“Yes” Kaneeta smiled faintly, a cold glint in her eyes. “From
today on, whether it’s business or personal matters, please do
not contact me again, Mr. Kuntz.”
“Neeta!” Edmund clenched his fists. “Think carefully. Resigning
is not a joke. If you insist on quitting now, there won’t be any
way for me to bring you back to the company in the future!”
“That’s fine.” Kaneeta’s red lips curled into a mocking smile. “As
long as you have a way to let Nyasia come and go as she pleases,
that’s all that matters”
Edmund stared at her intently. “Not going home, and now
resigning–where do you plan to go? To that so–called relative of

yours? What kind of good job can he arrange for you…”
“No need for your concern, Mr. Kuntz.”
