Chapter 35
What did Woodrow mean by that?
Kaneeta was confused, but at that moment, the cautious voice of
the nurse greeting them sounded at the door.
Woodrow stood up. “You should get some rest. I’ll be leaving
now.”
With that, she turned and left. As she passed by the nurse, she
shot her a glance, and the nurse immediately nodded nervously,
almost swearing on the spot that she would take good care of
Kaneeta.
After leaving the hospital, Woodrow got into the car.
Remembering what Kaneeta had just said, he let out a cold
chuckle.
Praising him as a good person–did she think he was always so
attentive and patient with everyone?
“So naive.”
On the way home, the atmosphere in the Kuntz family’s car was
heavy.
“Mom, Ed, is Kaneeta really going to sue me?” Nyasia asked, her
face drawn. “Is she crazy?”
“Exactly, she’s being so unreasonable. It was just a little scuffle-
does she have to make it sound so serious?” Lila sighed. “And she
said it in front of outsiders, not giving Ed any face at all.”
Edmund’s face was already dark, and hearing this made his
/expression even gloomier. The car suddenly felt stifling and hot.
He reached out and pressed down the window, letting the
evening breeze in. Only then did he feel a little better.
“Ed, what’s going on with Neeta? I feel like she’s changed so
much… She used to have eyes only for you, but now look at her
attitude. And that Mr. Hartwell–how does Neeta even know
him?”
“I don’t know,” Edmund replied stiffly.
“Ed, are you jealous? Is this really the time to be jealous?” Nyasia
started to cry. “Kaneeta wants to sue me–what am I supposed to
do?”
Edmund suddenly grew impatient. “It’s just a minor injury. At
most, you’ll be detained for a few days…”
Chapter 35
He didn’t finish his sentence. Hearing Nyasia’s sobs, his heart
softened again.
“Don’t worry. I’ll figure something out.”
“You shouldn’t have left just now,” Lila fretted. “You should have,
stayed with Neeta.”
“Stay for what? With that attitude of hers, am I supposed to go begging?” Edmund said coldly. “I’ve been too good to her lately,
and now she’s getting more and more out of control.”
After saying this, he felt his words made perfect sense.
It must be because he’s been coaxing Kaneeta so often lately that
she’s started to think she can push him around, even daring to
talk about breaking up and divorce.
If he just gave her the cold shoulder for a few days, she would
definitely get scared and come to him to admit her mistakes.
Thinking this, Edmund felt much better.
“Ed, since Kaneeta already brought up breaking up, why don’t
you just go through with it?” Nyasia suddenly said.
“Don’t talk nonsense!” Lila warned her.
“Oh, Mom, please don’t say anything yet. Ed, you…”
Chapter 35
“Mom’s right, don’t talk nonsense,” Edmund said, frowning.
“Neeta is already giving me enough of a headache. Don’t make
things worse for me. Otherwise, I won’t help you with your
problem.”
Nyasia bit her lower lip hard.
Before, when Edmund refused to break up with Kaneeta, she
could still comfort herself by thinking he was just holding on to
old feelings.
But now, even with Kaneeta’s attitude and her taking the
initiative to break up, Edmund still wouldn’t agree.
He had clearly said before that Kaneeta couldn’t compare to her
at all.
So what did he mean by this now?
Nyasia was furious, but didn’t dare say more. After all, she still
needed Edmund to handle the matter of her deliberately pushing
Kaneeta and causing her mild concussion.
She lowered her head, took out her phone, found a video, and
uploaded it to a popular video website.
It was a dance video she had recorded earlier.
Watching her graceful dancing in the video, Nyasia’s lips curled

Kaneeta, now that you can’t dance anymore, how can you
possibly compete with me?
