Chapter 33
Although this was just a minor issue, Edmund would certainly be
able to handle it.
However, if Nyasia ended up with á criminal record, it would
sound bad if word got out, and others would mock the Kuntz
family.
“Neeta, we’re all family here. Let’s talk things through calmly. I’ll
have Nya apologize to you right away…”
“Who says we’re family?” Kaneeta shot her a glance and replied
coldly.
“Neeta…
“Kaneeta!” Edmund glared at her angrily. “Do you really have to
be like this?”
He took a deep breath. “My patience has its limits.”
Kaneeta found it amusing and was about to speak, but Atticus
spoke up for her first.
“Kid, are you kidding me? Someone from your family
deliberately pushed our Neeta, causing her a mild concussion,
and now you say your patience has limits? What have you had to
endure? Anyone who didn’t know better would think you were
the victim! Let me tell you, we will not let this matter go!”
“Atticus, there’s no need to waste words on him,” Kaneeta said
wearily. “I’m tired. I want to sleep now.””
“Alright,” Atticus nodded quickly, then glared at Edmund. “Didn’t
you hear her? Get out of here right now!”
Edmund stared intently at Kaneeta, but at that moment,
Woodrow stepped aside, his tall figure completely blocking
Edmund’s view.
“Out.”
The tone was indisputable, carrying a strong sense of oppression.
Edmund clenched his fists tightly.
He locked eyes with Woodrow, but his words were directed at
Kaneeta: “Kaneeta, I’m truly angry now. Don’t regret this!”
With that, he turned and strode away.
Since Edmund had left, Lila couldn’t stay either and had no choice
but to follow.
As soon as they were gone, Kaneeta felt as if the air in the
hospital room had become much fresher.
“Mr. Hartwell, Atticus, I’m sorry to trouble you both by calling
you here so late.”
“Child, why are you still being so polite with me?” Atticus smiled
kindly. “Mr. Hartwell isn’t an outsider either, so don’t feel any
burden.”
After all, he was her future husband.
“Don’t overthink it,” Woodrow said to Kaneeta. “Get some rest. I’ll
step out to make a call.”
After Woodrow left the hospital room, Kaneeta couldn’t help but
ask Atticus, “Atticus, why did you tell Mr. Hartwell about this?”
“Ah? You..”
Atticus quickly realized that Kaneeta probably still didn’t know
that Woodrow was her arranged fiancé.
Since Matthew hadn’t told her, he decided it was best not to say
more.
So he simply said vaguely, “Well, the Drayton family and the
Hartwell family have grown quite close these past two years.

“It’s fine if you told him, but please, don’t tell my dad
grandmother about this.”

“I know, you’ve already told me,” Atticus sighed. “Child, you keep
things like this from them? Luckily nothing serious happened to
you this time. If something had, would you still have kept it from
them?”
At his words, Kaneeta immediately thought of the car accident
two years ago.

She hadn’t told her father or grandmother about it.

She didn’t want them to worry, and at the time, she was also
afraid they would take it out on Edmund.
How ridiculous… She had been so badly injured, yet she was still
