I served her six meals a day, in addition to regular meals, fruits, milk, and stew were also continuously served to her, supposedly to supplement nutrition for her younger brother. And when she saw various supplements being brought to her, her mouth watered, and she had long forgotten about controlling
her diet.
Under my care for the past two weeks, Savanna not only gained weight but also became increasingly temperamental.
I obediently catered to her, constantly praising her in various ways, and even praised the baby in her belly as if it were the most extraordinary being in the world. I made her feel even more proud and arrogant, believing that she was carrying a child who was the pride of heaven.
Seeing my dad come home every day after finishing his business, I noticed that he no longer had the same tenderness and thoughtfulness as before. Instead, he would strangely complain about coming home late and question what he was doing outside every day.
Dad got so angry that he couldn’t help but argue with her again, but I tried to calm things down and persuade Dad to let it go.
Dad saw Savanna’s behavior and thought that I must have been annoyed by her every day at home. I forced a smile and understandingly said it’s okay. Dad felt sorry for me and quickly took out his phone, transferring tens of thousands of dollars to compensate me.
Such things happened from time to time, several times a week. The arguments between the two of us were constant, while my phone kept “dinging” with incoming notifications, not to mention the small gifts my dad often bought for me.
I was safe and sound, looking at the bank account with an increasing balance, and burst into laughter. Afterward, I transferred all of it to my mom’s
account.
During this period, Savanna worshipped me like a revered Buddha, and she finally let go of her guard against me. Even when going out and dining with friends, she would bring me along.
Seeing me attentively taking care of her every need, even her friends were left speechless.
Savanna proudly boasted to her friends, “This is my stepdaughter, she treats me so well. Look, I’ve gained a daughter to take care of. Konnor’s ex–wife was a real failure, causing a divorce and losing her husband and even her daughter!”
She was mocking my mother there, but I remained silent and continued to smile.
Her friend glanced at me and anxiously nudged her, “The child is here! Lower your voice.”
Savanna didn’t mind, she didn’t even look at me. “What’s there to be afraid of? She, she’s a pushover. She’s following Konnor, so she definitely won’t dare to speak up for her mom! Isn’t she afraid her dad will abandon her?”
I seemed to have not heard anything at all, obediently pouring her another cup of tea, “Mom, you’ve been talking so much, have a cup of tea to moisten your throat!”
The dinner party ended amidst the astonishment of Savanna’s friends, and from then on, her Instagram followers knew that she had a well–behaved and obedient stepdaughter who treated her exceptionally well and served her attentively.
Time flew by, and soon my winter vacation came to an end. I looked at Savanna, who was struggling to walk due to her bulky figure, and smiled contentedly.
It was time to implement the next plan.
Savanna was lying comfortably in bed as I took her clean clothes into the bathroom for her. “Mom, I’ll be going back to school soon, and I still have some homework left to finish. I’m going upstairs now to do my homework. I’ve already taken your clean clothes for you, so you can just go in and take a shower later.”
As usual, she waved at me and then turned over to sleep.
I calmly walked into my room and closed the door.
With trembling hands full of excitement, I put on the headphones and a mechanical female voice came through. Gradually, my mood calmed down. The exciting moment was about to come, and I didn’t know if you could handle it.
