Chapter 2
Dad, seeing how well–behaved I was, affectionately patted my head and said, “Penelope has grown up and become so sensible. It’s not in vain that Dad has always loved you so much.”
Seeing that he was in a good mood, I took the opportunity to make a request, “Dad, I’m going to enter the second year of high school. As you know, the academic pressure in the second year is even greater. So, I plan to enroll in a class taught by a renowned teacher during the summer vacation. This way, I can improve my chances of getting into a top university in the future.”
“No problem, it’s rare to see my daughter so motivated. Dad will give you however much money you need!” Dad readily agreed and transferred one hundred thousand dollars into my bank account with a wave of his hand. “You can use it for now, and if it’s not enough, just ask Dad!”
I smiled sweetly at my dad and said, “Dad, you’re still generous!” Holding my packed luggage, I politely waved at both of them and said, “I’ll go and take the luggage to Mom first. Dad, Mom, I’m leaving now.”
Dad watched my departing figure, contentedly embracing Savanna, and gave her a few passionate kisses.
I looked at this couple in the rearview mirror and smirked coldly.
The future is long. The immediate priority is to first appease my own mother and make her my solid support.
. I arrived at my grandmother’s house and rang the doorbell.
It was my uncle who opened the door, and he looked at me with an unfriendly expression.
“Why are you, this white–eyed wolf, still here? Go and enjoy the wealth and prosperity with your father!”
I picked up the luggage in my hand and said, “I came to deliver the luggage for my mother!”
My uncle was about to take it, but suddenly an old hand from behind stopped him and said, “Don’t take her luggage. Can’t our family afford a few pieces of clothing?”
It was my grandmother, she rushed out and pushed me away, breathing heavily with anger. “Get out of here! Our Yang family doesn’t welcome you! I’ll pretend I don’t have a granddaughter like you!”
The gate was about to close, and I threw my luggage on the ground, firmly pressed against the door, and shouted loudly inside, “Mom, you left. If I also leave, are you going to let that couple of cheaters off the hook for nothing?”
Grandma and uncle were stunned when they heard these words, and I took advantage of this moment to rush into the house.
Mom was in the living room, bowing her head and wiping her tears. When she saw me rushing in, she couldn’t help but get teary–eyed.
I held her tenderly and said, “Mom, please don’t cry. Only by staying by my dad’s side can I fight for the greatest benefit for us. You have followed Dad for so many years, from his humble beginnings to now, when his business has grown significantly. We can’t let Savanna take that away from us!”
I showed her the transfer record that my dad had just made, “Look, Dad just transferred 100,000 to me. I will transfer the money to you, and afterward, he will definitely often buy things and give me money in order to make peace with me and that woman. I will keep this money and belongings for you, and when I graduate from college, I will leave them and start a new life with you!”
My mother held me tenderly and said, “It’s just unfair for you to face them every day, how much frustration you must have in your heart!”
I smiled at my mother and said, “It’s not worth feeling wronged. It’s all worth it for our future better life.”
How could I feel wronged? I could gradually lead them into the trap I carefully designed, watching them cluelessly and arrogantly, it’s so amusing.
From childhood to adulthood, the people around me were deceived by my innocent and adorable appearance, praising me as a well–behaved and sensible child. But even my own mother didn’t know that I was actually a scheming person, who enjoyed plotting against others and relished in the process.
It’s not my fault if I don’t be polite when such a rare “toy” is delivered to my house.
Chapter 3
When I got back home, wiping away my tears, I looked visibly upset. My dad, seeing my state, hugged me tightly with a heart full of compassion, saying, “Don’t go to that awful woman’s house to be mistreated any more. Dad will treat you even better from now on!”
I wiped my tears with a tissue, choking up and saying, “After all, she is my biological mother. It hurts me inside when she treats me like this.”
Dad quickly took out a thick gold necklace from the safe, and Savanna watched with wide eyes, but she didn’t dare say anything
Dad put the necklace around my neck and said, “Your birthday is in a few days. Dad will give you a birthday present first, and then we will celebrate it grandly!”
A few days later, as expected, my father held a grand birthday party for me and even gave me a card with some money inside. I affectionately posed for a photo with him and Savanna, making him look extremely proud. I proudly showed off my blessings to everyone, showcasing my virtuous wife and filial daughter.
In the following days, I was busy preparing for the college entrance examination. I focused on studying and told my dad that I wanted to stay in the school dormitory. Seeing how diligent I was, and not wanting to hinder his and Savanna’s alone time, my dad happily agreed and gave me a generous monthly allowance.
Apart from the necessary expenses, I transferred all the money to my mother.
Soon, a semester passed. When I went home for winter vacation, I saw my dad and Savanna cooking a table full of dishes to welcome me.
“What a great day today, Penelope has also come back from school. I have some good news to announce!” Dad said with a big smile on his face.
I glanced at Savanna’s slightly bulging belly and her proud smile, full of laughter. “Am I going to be a big sister?”
Savanna coyly nestled in her father’s arms and demurely nodded her head.
“Congratulations to Mom and Dad!” I raised my glass and clinked it with theirs.
Dad patted my shoulder, with a satisfied look on his face, “I am really happy today. My daughter is well–behaved and sensible, and my wife is pregnant. What more could I ask for in life? If it’s a chubby son, then my life will truly be complete.”
Savanna touched her belly and proudly lifted her head, “Everyone says my belly is pointed, it must be a son. Konnor, don’t worry, your family business will definitely be inherited by someone!”
They spoke excitedly, without noticing the fleeting gloom in my eyes.
When they said in front of me that only sons could inherit the family business, they completely ignored me, their daughter.
Since that’s the case, I don’t need to leave any room for maneuver. Whether your son was born or not is still an unknown. Savanna was getting ready to go into the kitchen to serve the meal, but I stopped her and took her bowl.
“Mom, let me do it! You are pregnant now, so it’s better for you to move less.”
She looked at me respectfully as she brought the meal in front of me, smiling proudly, “Penelope is so well–behaved.”
Dad also kept nodding at me.
I was feeding Savanna while saying, “It just so happens that I am on winter vacation now, so I can take care of Morn at home. Dad, you can go and focus on your business! I am here at home!”
Savanna hesitated when she heard my words, covering her stomach and giving me a cautious look as if wondering what I was up to.
But I had a sincere face, completely flawless. Seeing my dad praising me endlessly, she could only force a smile and compliment me a few times in
response.
