Elaina’s shout brought me back to reality.
I turned around and ran towards my sweetheart.
Chapter 1
My neighbor went crazy every day and even insulted me in the WhatsApp group.
I turned around and rented out my house.
Five hundred off for someone just out of prison, six hundred off for someone with a history of mental illness, and seven hundred off for a cantankerous
elderly woman.
Soon, Deshawn, Andres, and Kate gathered at my house.
Now, it was my neighbor’s turn to beg for mercy from me.
My next–door neighbor, Diego Powell, was an idiot.
They had just moved in not long ago, and the hallway was already filled with stuff.
Bicycles, flowerpots, wastepaper boxes, broken cabinets…
Even the stinky shoe rack was right next to the front door of my house.
Every time I opened the door, I would be overwhelmed by the foul smell to the point of suffocation.
I was a bit socially anxious and afraid of interacting with people face–to–face.
So, at first, I chose to communicate in the WhatsApp group.
I sent a message: “Diego, can you move your shoe rack a bit further? It’s all the way to my doorstep. And that pile of clutter at the entrance is taking up the entire hallway. Can you please tidy it up and take it back inside?”
After sending the message, I continued to work. It was only a few hours later that I remembered to open the WhatsApp group and take a look.
I was shocked when I saw it. I couldn’t believe my eyes.
There were over a dozen voice messages in the group, all sent by Diego.
I hesitated for a whole minute and carefully chose “speech to text“.
What came into view was a series of foul language.
“Fuck you! Who are you to lecture me? It’s my hallway, I can do whatever I want with it. It’s none of your business.”
I felt like my mind was completely blank.
Would a normal person say that?!
I panicked and tried to exit the WhatsApp interface, but my finger accidentally touched the screen and opened a voice message.
In an instant, Diego’s loud curse exploded in the office.
“Asshole, are you tattling in the group? You worthless scum. Where’s your manner? If you have the guts, come and talk to me face to face. I’ll make sure to kill you!”
I hurriedly turned off my phone.
My colleague looked over and said, “Lilianna, are you okay?” My face turned pale and I whispered, “I was scolded by my neighbor.”
She stopped typing on the keyboard, moved the chair next to me, and sat down. “What happened? Tell me about it.”
I had a gloomy face and explained the cause and effect to her.
My colleague was angry and said, “What kind of person is this?! He made a mistake and still scolded others?”
After thinking for a moment, she gave me another piece of advice, “Go to the property management and let them stand up for you.”
I quickly made a phone call to the property management.
However, as soon as they heard that the trouble was caused by Apartment 901 in Building 7, the property management became hesitant.
“Diego? I saw him the last time.”
His child peed in the elevator, but he insisted it was the dog from the 15th floor. The resident on the 15th floor argued with him several times, and now the 15th–floor resident is drinking, herbal soup to calm down.”
