‘After half a year of drama, Jack finally got divorced.
I heard Chloe didn’t ask for a penny.
She wanted to use this to prove her sincere love for Jack.
Lucy gossiped with me:
“So stupid, so stupid. If she had just asked for some money, she’d have enough to live comfortably for half her life.”
“You don’t think she’s really waiting for Jack to have a change of heart, do you?”
How would i know? I don’t care.
I guess Jack doesn’t care either. He’s already started dating someone new.
Later, when Jack was about to remarry and brought his fiancée to a cocktail party, he found his ex–wife standing at the door greeting guests.
Chloe’s family’s relocation money had long been spent, and she hadn’t taken any money from Jack’s family, so now she needed to work to support herself.
With her good looks, she had gotten a job as a hotel lobby manager.
Jack pretended not to recognize her and walked past without a glance, but some troublemaker wanted to see him squirm:
“Young Master, isn’t that your socialite ex–wife?”
Jack’s expression didn’t change, but Chloe immediately lowered her head.
Frank casually dismissed it:
“You’ve got the wrong person. His ex–wife was quite capable, how could she be working here?”
Jack nervously glanced at his fiancée, then laughed and punched Frank:
“You’re still bringing her up? Let it go already.”
Chice stared blankly at their retreating figures.
Once, she had stood among them too. She had been the beloved one by his side.
But that was all in the past now.
