The Heir 69

The Heir 69

Chapter 69

Chapter 69

Zoe’s moans filled the room, mingling with the deep, guttural groans slipping from Alex’s lips.

She was frozen in place, the suffocating air of a moment that hurts her very soul.

A moment that shattered her, piece by piece, while Alex lost himself in someone else right in front of her.

And yet-

He was still staring at her.

Even as Zoe rode him, even as his hands gripped her waist, he was staring at Mia.

Like she was the one who should be beneath him.

Like she was the one he really wanted.

But that wasn’t true.

It couldn’t be true.

And the way his brows were furrowed, the way his lips parted with pleasure, told her everything she needed to know.

He was enjoying it.

Every bit of it.

Mia clenched her fists.

Her chest felt like it was caving in.

She tried to stop the tears, tried to wipe them away before they could fall.

But they wouldn’t stop.

They kept coming, warm and bitter, trailing down her cheeks like a cruel reminder of just how weak she was for him.

Because she loved him.

God, she loved him.

And it hurts.

It hurt so much she could barely breathe.

Her legs trembled as she pushed herself up, gripping the couch for balance.

Her entire body felt too heavy, like the weight of what was happening was pressing her into the ground.

But she needed to leave.

She needed to get out of here before she shattered completely.

With blurred vision, she stumbled toward the door, her heart slamming against her ribs.

Her fingers fumbled with the handle, twisting, pulling-

Chapter 69

It wouldn’t open.

A choked breath slipped from her lips.

The walls felt like they were closing in.

She was trapped.

The room was too small, too dark, too full of the sounds that would haunt her for the rest of her life.

Zoe’s moans.

Alex’s groans.

The wet, disgusting sounds of their bodies moving together.

It was suffocating her.

Her fingers slipped from the handle, shaking.

She pressed her back against the wall and slid down, sinking onto the cold floor.

She didn’t know what else to do.

Didn’t know how to escape this moment when it was already branded into her soul.

Her head tilted back against the wall, her gaze lifting to the ceiling.

She couldn’t look at them.

Couldn’t let herself see what was happening just a few feet away.

She bit her lip so hard she tasted blood.

She needed to feel something other than this pain.

Something other than the deep ache swallowing her whole.

She didn’t know how long she sat there.

Didn’t know how much time passed as she stared at the ceiling, listening to the sounds of her own heartbreak.

She had done this to herself.

Alex told her, right from the beginning, that she was just a bet, a game his girlfriend wanted them to play.

Something to spice up his relationship.

She was nothing but a toy.

Something for them to use.

To pleasure themselves with.

She should have stopped everything with him after the first time he had shattered her.

She should have run.

But she didn’t…

Chapter 69

Because a part of her-

A stupid, naive part of her-

Had hoped.

Had believed that maybe, just maybe, she was more to him.

That maybe she mattered.

But she didn’t.

She never did.

And now she was here.

Sitting on the cold ground, waiting for this nightmare to end.

Waiting for them to finish using her as their entertainment.

Waiting for the moment she could finally walk out that door and never look back.

Even though she knew-

No matter how far she ran-

No matter how much time passed-

She would never escape this.

But she has made up her mind, she will fight this with everything in her.

Mia didn’t know when it ended.

She didn’t even realize the room had gone silent, that the moans and groans had stopped, that the air wasn’t thick with the sounds of their pleasure anymore.

Her body was numb, her mind empty.

She had just been sitting there, staring at nothing, waiting.

And then-

A pair of bare feet stopped right in front of her.

Zoe.

Mia looked up slowly, her eyes burning, her face blank.

Zoe was naked, skin glistening with sweat, her smirk sharp and cruel.

Mia’s stomach twisted in disgust.

It was over.

Finally.

She forced herself up, her limbs weak, her entire body aching with exhaustion. She didn’t say anything, didn’t react, just hoped-prayed-that Zoe would open the door and let her leave.

Chapter 69

Zoe didn’t open the door.

She just tilted her head, smirk widening.

“Well, Turner, thanks for the entertainment,” she drawled, stretching her arms lazily, like she wasn’t standing there completely naked in front of her. “I’ve always loved being watched while getting fucked.”

Mia clenched her fists.

Zoe chuckled. “But you know what made it even better?” She stepped closer, her voice dropping to a mocking whisper. “You.”

Mia stiffened.

Zoe licked her lips, eyes gleaming. “Knowing you are in love with my boyfriend? That made it more entertaining.”

Mia’s heart stopped.

She forgot how to breathe.

She froze.

Her vision blurred at the edges, her ears ringing as the words settled deep into her bones.

She glanced toward Alex.

He was watching her.

Of course he was.

Because he always was.

He sat there on the couch, naked, completely unbothered, legs spread like nothing in the world could shake him.

And his face-

Blank.

Unreadable.

Like he had already known.

Like this wasn’t news to him at all.

Mia’s stomach twisted.

She swallowed the lump in her throat, her voice hoarse when she spoke.

“Please open the door,” she whispered.

Zoe let out a loud laugh. “Oh? You’re not even going to deny it? You’re not going to say you’re not in love with my boyfriend?” She clicked her tongue. “How pathetic. You really are just a lowlife whore, huh?”

Mia inhaled sharply, keeping her head down.

She didn’t have the energy to argue.

Didn’t have the strength to fight back.

“Can you open the door, please?” she said instead, her voice barely above a whisper.

She was just so tired.

Tired of this game.

Tired of being humiliated.

Tired of them.

She just wanted to leave

Zoe rolled her eyes. “What’s the rush, bi-”

“I get it, Zoe.”

The words ripped from Mia’s throat like a scream that had been building.

Zoe went silent.

Mia’s chest heaved. Her whole body was shaking.

“I get it!” she spat, her voice cracking. “I get the lesson you’re trying to teach me, the message you’re trying to send! I get it!”

Zoe blinked at her, taken aback.

“I’m the toy in your little game, right? The clown for your evening laughter, the pathetic entertainment to spice up your relationship.” Mia let out a broken laugh, her breath hitching. “I get it!”

Her hands curled into fists at her sides.

“I’m the pathetic whore who was stupid enough to fall in love with your boyfriend.” She shook her head, blinking rapidly as her vision blurred with fresh tears. “I don’t stand a chance! I get it!”

Silence.

Mia let out a sharp breath, her voice dropping to a whisper.

“I’m a joke,” she said, almost to herself. “I’m pathetic. I’m a loser.” Her throat tightened. “I get it.”

The room was dead silent.

Zoe just stared at her.

And for the first time all night-she had nothing to say.

Mia’s breaths were uneven, her shoulders trembling.

And then-

“Let her leave, Zoe.”

Mia turned sharply.

Alex.

The first words he had spoken since this entire nightmare started.

His voice was deep, quiet-unaffected.

Like none of this had touched him.

Lake he hadn’t just destroyed her.

Mia clenched her jaw, the urge to scream at him so strong she had to bite her tongue to stop herself.

Zoe scoffed, rolling her eyes. “I’m glad you’ve finally learned your lesson,” she said, walking over to the door. She placed her hand on the knob, pausing just long enough to smirk. “We’ll contact you again if we ever need your services.”

Mia didn’t wait.

The second the door opened, she ran.
