Chapter 56
Alex sat at the edge of his bed, his elbows resting on his knees, his fingers threading through his hair.
Mia was still asleep, curled up in the sheets, her bare shoulder peeking out from beneath the fabric.
His chest tightened at the sight of her.
He really has feelings for her.
Fuck!
It wasn’t just a fleeting attraction or some reckless desire. It was deeper than that—dangerously deep. And it was the worst thing that could happen to him.
Mia Turner wasn’t just any girl. She was a Turner. His father would lose his mind if he knew. No, not just lose his mind-he would destroy everything. Him. Her. Everything.
Alex clenched his jaw as the weight of it settled on him. This wasn’t just about his father’s approval or his family’s reputation.
The Turners were the shame of Willowcrest, the kind of people his father sneered at. Associating with them would do more than just taint his name-it would ruin him.
A Turner is a name that has scarred his family… a name they all frown upon
And yet…
His eyes drifted back to Mia.
Fuck, he wanted her.
Even now, knowing the chaos this would bring, he couldn’t stop the desire from clawing its way through him.
The way she looked in his bed, completely unguarded, made his stomach twist with something dangerous. Something possessive.
His phone buzzed, snapping him out of his thoughts.
A message from his father.
Be home tonight.
Alex exhaled sharply, the bitterness creeping up his throat. Home. What a joke.
That house had never felt like home. Not with his father controlling every aspect of his life, molding him into a perfect Blackwell heir. The only things that made it tolerable were his mother and Julian. Without them, he wouldn’t bother stepping foot in that mansion at all.
He tossed the phone onto the counter and made his way to the kitchen. He needed coffee, something to clear his damn head. Maybe if he focused on anything other than the girl in his bed, he could convince himself this was a mistake.
The sound of soft movement behind him made him freeze.
He didn’t turn around. He knew she was awake. He could feel her eyes on him.

Chapter 56
Alex’s grip on his coffee mug tightened.
He needed to tell her to leave.
This was ridiculous. He couldn’t afford to be reckless, not with her. He needed to end this before it spiraled into something worse. Before his father found out. Before she got hurt.
If she hated him, it would make everything casier. If she saw him for the monster he was, maybe she’d walk away
own.
Alex took a deep breath, steadying himself, before finally turning around-
And everything he wanted to say vanished.
on her
Mia stood in the doorway, wrapped in nothing but his sheets, her messy hair falling over her shoulders. Sleep still lingered in her expression, her lips slightly parted as she blinked at him.
She was gorgeous.
The kind of beauty that was effortless, untouched by pretense. It was a beauty that snuck up on you, that made your breath catch when you least expected it.
Alex’s entire body tensed.
How is she so beautiful?
It wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fucking fair.
He should push her away. Should say something cruel to make her leave.
Instead, he moved.
In three long strides, he was in front of her, pulling her against him. She gasped, startled, but before she could say anything, his mouth was on hers, devouring her.
Mia melted instantly, her fingers gripping his arms, as if she was just as lost in this madness as he was.
Alex backed her up against the counter, his hands gripping her waist, his lips moving with a kind of hunger that was almost desperate. He wasn’t thinking anymore. He was beyond thinking.
Her small hands pressed against his bare chest, her touch soft and teasing, sending a shiver down his spine. She knew what she was doing to him.
He let out a low groan, his lips trailing down her neck, tasting her, claiming her.
She whimpered, tilting her head to give him more access, her fingers threading through his hair.
God, he was gone.
There was no fighting this, no stopping it.
He wanted her. Again and again and again.
He didn’t think. He couldn’t. Logic had long abandoned him the second he turned around and saw her-hair tousled from sleep, lips slightly parted, eyes still hazy with the remnants of dreams.

Mia.
She was a problem. A dangerous one. But right now, she was the only thing that made sense in his chaotic world.
He held her face between his hands, crashing his lips against hers, again and again swallowing the surprised gasp that left her mouth. Her fingers threads through his hair, gripping him like she was scared he would disappear.
He wanted to be rough, to be selfish-to claim her so thoroughly that even if his father tried to rip them apart, even if the whole world turned against them, she would still feel him under her skin.
But when she whispered his name in that breathless, broken way, everything inside him softened.
Alex lifted her effortlessly, carrying her to the couch, never breaking the kiss. He laid her down gently, hovering above her, his hands tracing the curve of her waist possessively.
Mia arched into him, desperate for more, pulling him closer, her nails digging into his back, anchoring herself to him. “Alex…”
His name on her lips was his undoing. He groaned against her throat, kissing a slow, burning trail down her skin. Every sound she made only drove him further into madness, into a place where only she existed.
She trembled beneath him, her breath uneven, her body responding to his every touch, every whisper against her skin. And God, he loved it. He loved the way she looked at him-like he wasn’t the heartless bastard the world saw, like he was worth something more.
Their movements became frantic, desperate, the world outside disappearing entirely.
Right now, there were no family expectations. No reputation. No past, no future.
Just this moment. Just them.
And Alex was lost in her, drowning, and he never wanted to come up for air.
He slides in and out of her, eyes not leaving her face as he takes in every of her expressions that makes him want to growl
out her name.
Fuck!
