she had texted back happily.
Three days later no reply
Mia has been going crazy in the missing Alex department.
Alex had texted him about having their second date three days ago but he’s nowhere to be seen since then

Mia’s eyes glued to her phone, her mind racing with thoughts of Alex. It had been three days since he’d texted her about their second date and Mia had replied
But since then, nothing…she has not heard anything since. No replies, no calls, no nothing. She felt like she was losing her mind.
She couldn’t concentrate at work, constantly looking around Casa Lounge, hoping to catch a glimpse of him. But he was nowhere to be found here too.
Was he ok?
She felt like a stalker, obsessing over someone who clearly didn’t need her care.
As she poured drinks with shaking hands, another glass slipped from her fingers, shattering on the floor. Her coworker.
Emily rushed to her side, concern on her face.
“Hey give me, I’ll handle it go take a rest.”
Emily finds her later staring at her worriedly
“What’s wrong? You’ve been acting so strange lately.”
Mia forced a smile, trying to brush off her worries. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just stressed, that’s all.”
But Emily wasn’t buying it. “Girl, you’ve been walking around like a ghost. You’re lucky boss is not around with all these mistakes. What’s going on? spill.”
Mia sighed, feeling a lump form in her throat. She couldn’t exactly say why she was like this.
She was stupid… that’s the best answer.
What exactly is she supposed to say?
So I have a crush, I think it’s moving past a crush cause I’m thinking about him every second. He’s supposed to have texted me back but hasn’t and now I’m worried sick, I miss him, I just want to see him and it’s making me lose my mind?
“I told you, it’s nothing,” Mia repeated, trying to sound convincing.
Emily raised an eyebrow. “You’re not even convincing yourself, Mia. But fine, keep your secrets. Want to go out with me and my boyfriend, Jamal, today?”

Mia’s mind wandered, still stuck on Alex. She didn’t want to go anywhere
“Who?”
“My boyfriend.”
“I didn’t know you had a boyfriend”
Emily smiles shyly.
“We just met though”
“Ahh okay, congrats”
“So what do you say? He’s really into this underground boxing ring thing, and I’m excited to check it out.”
Mia’s ears perked up at the mention of underground. “Underground what?”
“A fighting ring.”
“It’s that even legal?” Mia asked with a frown
“Apparently, it’s a big deal, and Jamal’s really into it. Alex Blackwell fights there, so I’m sure it’s legit.”
Mia froze
Her heart skipped a beat.
Alex?
Alex fought there? She felt a rush of excitement mixed with desperation. She had to see him, had to know what was going
“Okay,” Mia said, trying to sound casual. “Count me in.”
Emily grinned. “Perfect! Jamal will pick us up after our shift.”
Mia’s mind was racing, her heart pounding in her chest. She was going to see Alex, and she had no idea what to expect.
The rest of the shift moves too slow for her liking, she keeps blinking at the time.
She wanted to see him.
So badly it was embarrassing to admit…
