Chapter 15
Mia just stood there like an idiot staring at him, lost in his eyes.
“Get in let me give you a ride home”
His voice, oh heavens help me.
Mia doesn’t know what’s happening right now…
She was speechless, is this a thing now? Alexander Blackwell giving her a ride, so he likes her huh? She wasn’t being delusional then.
She clears her throat. Let him beg you some more. A part of her suggested and Mia listened.
“No, thank you, I prefer the bus?”
Alex stares harder with those eyes that just draws you in, his lips lifted in a smirk.
He chuckles.
“Alright Turner see you around”
He gets into his car and drives off leaving Mia to stare with her mouth hanging open?
What the fuck?
Just like that?
Is he not supposed to insist?
Mia has no words, she waits, maybe Alex will change his mind and come back but nothing….
She sighs cursing at that stupid part of her that suggested she makes him beg some more.
Mia let out a mocking laugh. “Make him beg? He was fucking trying to help you?”
She’s losing it, now she’s talking to herself on the road.
She shakes her hand, forcing her tired body to continue walking to the bus stop….
It was another day of work in Casa lounge.
Today was just like any other day, rich kids coming in to buy drinks they can buy a hundred times cheaper at other bars…
Except today was different.
Alex is here and Zoe his ex-girlfriend, is also here but with another man? Indeed she moved on so fast or maybe she brought the guy here to make Alex jealous?
Mia’s heart pounded as she stood behind the bar, trying to focus on her work.
Alex’s presence will be the end of her. She could feel the weight of his gaze, making her hands tremble as she poured drinks.
He’s supposed to be staring at Zoe, you know, get jealous?
1/3
When Alex had entered with his friend, Mia’s heart so predictable had started beating so fast…
She had to serve his table and also serve Zoe?
As she approached Zoe’s table to take their order. Zoe’s laughter rang out as she laughed at whatever the man was saying.
The sight of them together confirmed everything. Alex and Zoe were no longer together.
Maybe be….
Maybe….
Maybe nothing Mia, focus and work.
“What can I get for you?” Mia asked, her voice steady despite the war inside.
Zoe and her friend placed their order.
She quickly jotted down the order and turned to leave when Zoe’s words kept her feets rooted to the floor beneath her
“I heard my ex is interested in you.”
She turned and stared at her with wide eyes.
美
“Don’t look so surprised. I know about your little date. And now I don’t care. Enjoy my leftovers, Turner. Now, shoo.”
Heat rushed to Mia’s face, a mix of embarrassment and anger. She opened her mouth to respond but found herself at a loss for words.
She hurried to the back of the bar, her hands shaking as she leaned against the cold brick wall, taking deep breaths trying to steady herself.
After a few moments, she straightened up, determined to finish her shift. She couldn’t let Zoe’s words affect her work.
Maybe a part of her is happy? Maybe Alex is serious with her?
Summoning her professionalism, she approached Zoe’s table with their drinks.
She attends to Alex and his friend, trying her possible best to avoid staring too long into his eyes.
Alex’s friend placed another order. Just as she was about to leave, she felt a piece of paper slip into her hand.
Her eyes met Alex’s, and for a moment, the noise of the bar faded away. There was something in his gaze, an intensity that makes her heart race. She quickly looks away, her cheeks burning.
She quickly hurried to the back door.
Outside the cool night air was a welcome relief. She unfolded the note with trembling hands. The words were simple yet filled with promise: “Second date, tomorrow.”
Mia’s mind raced. The idea of a second date with Alex was both thrilling and terrifying.
Taking a deep breath, she folded the note and placed it in her pocket.
As she re-entered the bar, she caught Alex’s eye once more. This time, she allowed herself a small smile before turning away, her heart fluttering with anticipation and uncertainty.
