Chapter 8
Connor was taken to the hospital with eight stitches on his forehead.
When he woke up, he was dizzy and nauseous, and diagnosed with a
concussion.
The bodyguard felt unfairly wronged.
“We just wanted to kick him out; he hit the door himself.”
On the hospital bed, Connor weakly gasped, pointing at me.
“Stella, I’m so dizzy…”
་་
Matt quickly pulled me away and told the bodyguard, “Get him a caregiver.”
Just as we reached the door, Connor started vomiting and frantically pressed the call button.
I watched the doctors and nurses rush back and forth, sighing to myself.
“Matt, let me talk to him.”
Connor couldn’t hide his delight as the door clicked shut.
“Stella, I knew you wouldn’t abandon me. You still care about me.
“It’s not too late. You love me, I love you, we’ll get our marriage license tomorrow. And don’t worry, I’ll give you the perfect wedding, any setting you want-“|
“Connor, why don’t you get it yet?”

Chapter 8
I cut off his wild fantasies and said coldly, “When I say I don’t love you, it’s not out of anger or because of Nina; it’s because I truly don’t love you anymore.”
His lips trembled, and his face turned even paler.
After a while, he shook his head. “I don’t believe it. You used to love me
so much.”

“Yeah, I did. But how did you treat me?
“You were jealous of my family status, resented that I was born at the top of the pyramid, and felt inferior because your family was below ours.
“So you purposely dated the daughter of a nouveau riche, told everyone you loved her and not me, said I was chasing after you, and claimed I was clingy, insisting on marrying you.

“You’ve hurt me so many times. Didn’t you think I would feel the pain too?”
Connor instinctively wanted to argue but swallowed his words.
He knew I was telling the truth.
His jealousy and inferiority were clear, even if he refused to admit it.
Now that I had exposed him, he didn’t even have the courage to look at
- me.
The silence lasted so long Matt finally knocked. Then, Connor sighed and asked, “Stella, is there really no going back?
“I won’t be jealous or insecure anymore. Isn’t that enough?”
I shook my head. “There won’t be a good outcome if we stay together.”

He stubbornly insisted. “How do you know unless we try?”
I stood up and looked into the eyes I once loved, answering firmly, “I’ve dreamed about it. Marrying you means a lifetime of cruelty, losing all my family’s fortune, and my parents and I dying tragically.
“The only ones with a good outcome are you and Nina, not me.”
As I left, I heard Connor crying.
His sobs reminded me of the cries my parents and I shared while hugging during the car accident in my previous life.
But this time, I wouldn’t end the same way.
A few days before my wedding with Matt, the Wright family followed the same tragic path as the Scott family.
I heard Nina gathered plenty of evidence, exposing the Wright family not only for tax evasion but also for deliberately assaulting employees. That sparked public outrage, leaving the Wright family with no way to recover.
After that, no one heard anything about the Wright family or the Scott family any more.
or disappeared without a trace.
On the wedding day, I wore the Collins family’s heirloom bracelet.
Matt’s grandmother had traveled a long way and brought a paper he’d hidden for years.
Before he transferred to another school, we wrote yearbook notes for him. He kept my page, protecting it with a film.
Looking back at my childish handwriting now, I couldn’t help but chuckle.

Chapter 6
“Matt, you went so far away.”
“To me, it felt like I was still with you, Stella.”
Matt came over and pulled me into a hug.
“From now on, I won’t go far. I’ll stay right by your side.
“You’ll always be my loved one.”
The end.
